This is the most bird brained idea I have ever heard! Do these goons even have to get up in the morning to travel 422? I do every morning and it is always gridlocked. If they are going to try to ease congestion on 422 they will need to get a better bus hub for all of the people they think will ride the rail line, this should not even be an option. 422 is in terrible shape, they would have to widen it, fix the pot holes and redo all of the entrance and exit ramps which will probably far excede the cost for the commuter rail. BAD BAD IDEA!!!

They should have put a train here a long time ago. There are 5 colleges in the area and it would make it alot easier to travel to these places. Think of all the college students that would use it?

The main highways to Philadelphia are always congested. The commuter train is long past due. If I not mistaken there used to be one many years ago. They should have never done away with it.
No tolls for me

Tolls on 422 - are you crazy? It is already so gridlocked another added barrier would be disasterous. I travel 422 everyday. I consider this another tax by our government.

Speaking of government, didn't the so called stimulus plan BO signed this week have billions set aside for infrastructure, roads, etc??? Let's get some of this money so we can create jobs and ease the congestion problem. Oh wait, the money will go to all BO's cronies in Washington to perform a worthless study and then to the lawyers to tell us it is not feasible because we have no money. Or it will go to all his supporters and campaign contributors areas...Then us hard working Americans will get taxed out the wazoo to pay for it.

I agree on the need for the train. However, maybe, just maybe, if the powers that be would learn how to properly manage our tax money, the money would already be there for the project. Its time for smaller bonuses, paycuts, and real responsibility!! It should start in the White House!! LMAO that'll NEVER happen!! PAY PAY PAY PAY pretty soon we will have to pay by the breath!! Hail USSA!!

It would be ok to charge a toll if the monies went for starting the rail system back up,but it should have never been stopped in the first place,it would take alot of traffic off 422 but to charge a toll means more money spent putting in toll boths.
I don't no what the problem is the tracks are there to be used but most of the stations were torn down already---someone wasn't using there heads,Oh well thats are poloticans at work they all try to find ways to fill there pockets.

Tolls will never happen on 422. Too much truck traffic will start using 23 and 724. They need to add another lane in each direction on the bridge over the river in Betzwood.

people should live near where they work, then you would not have all the traffic on 422. i live in the same place for 40 years and there is more homes being built and the school system keeps upping the taxes. its about time no more building permits the infrastructure can't handle it.

Great idea, bring back the rails and get the cars off the roads....love the idea. When you sit and watch traffic, generally one person per car.
Just think of the fuel saved, no more paying to park and ride the rail and make room on the roadways GO FOR IT
The tolls will keep you off the highway and ride the rail for less

well a train is a good idea, but putting a toll on 422 to pay for it. Are these people nuts??
I dont think the train ride will be free that is what will pay for the service. As far as a toll on a state road we have one it is called the turnpike and if travelers what to pay a toll to go to Philadelphia I think they would use that instead of 422. What next tolls on are city streets, maybe e-z pass on route 222.

I think the stimulis package may pay the first several million to do a feasability study which I would be glad to apply for the job.I have no qualifications but I think I can do the job as well as the last guy who did it 5 years ago. Then we will decide to table it for 5 more years

I live in Douglassville, Berks County and I traveled the entire length of 422 from Berks county to the turnpike interchange every day for over 3 years. Traffic got progressively worse over time and what used to be a 1 hour commute to willow grove now took almost 2 hours. I support any effort to improve the flow of traffice on 422 even if it means paying a new toll. The time and gas saved will outweigh the cost of the toll in the future!
