Hey, you're a whiz on the OT! Whod'a thunk it!
How are you on the NT? You know - the really relevant part that Christian theology holds sets forth God's new covenant with man, superseding that OT stuff?("... that He would make a new testament to the house of Judah, shows that the old testament which was given by Moses was not perfect; but that which was to be given by Christ would be complete.")
Why don't you fill us in on what the NT and particularly the Gospel has to say on each of these topics, since that's the authoritative scripture for Christians ...
Superseding that OT stuff?

1)“For truly, I say to you, till heaven and earth pass away, not an iota, not a dot, will pass the law until all is accomplished. Whoever then relaxes one of the least of these commandments and teaches men so, shall be called least in the kingdom of heaven; but he who does them and teaches them shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.”(Matthew 5:18-19 RSV) Clearly the Old Testament is to be abided by until the end of human existence itself. None other then Jesus said so.

2) All of the vicious Old Testament laws will be binding forever. "It is easier for Heaven and Earth to pass away than for the smallest part of the letter of the law to become invalid." (Luke 16:17 NAB)

3) Jesus strongly approves of the law and the prophets. He hasn’t the slightest objection to the cruelties of the Old Testament. "Do not think that I have come to abolish the law or the prophets. I have come not to abolish but to fulfill. Amen, I say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest part or the smallest part of a letter will pass from the law, until all things have taken place." (Matthew 5:17 NAB)

3b) "All scripture is inspired by God and is useful for teaching, for refutation, for correction, and for training in righteousness..." (2 Timothy 3:16 NAB)

3c) "Know this first of all, that there is no prophecy of scripture that is a matter of personal interpretation, for no prophecy ever came through human will; but rather human beings moved by the holy Spirit spoke under the influence of God." (2 Peter 20-21 NAB)

4) Jesus criticizes the Jews for not killing their disobedient children according to Old Testament law. Mark.7:9-13 "Whoever curses father or mother shall die" (Mark 7:10 NAB)

5) Jesus is criticized by the Pharisees for not washing his hands before eating. He defends himself by attacking them for not killing disobedient children according to the commandment:“He that curseth father or mother, let him die the death.”(Matthew 15:4-7)

6) Jesus has a punishment even worse than his father concerning adultery: God said the act of adultery was punishable by death. Jesus says looking with lust is the same thing and you should gouge your eye out, better a part, than the whole. The punishment under Jesus is an eternity in Hell.(Matthew 5:27)

7) Peter says that all slaves should “be subject to [their] masters with all fear,” to the bad and cruel as well as the “good and gentle.” This is merely an echo of the same slavery commands in the Old Testament. 1 Peter 2:18

8)“Did not Moses give you the law, and yet none of you keepeth the law" (John7:19) and “For the law was given by Moses,..." (John 1:17).

9)“...the scripture cannot be broken.”--Jesus Christ, John 10:35

Your side calls it class war claptrap. The vast majority of Americans call it reality, based on facts.
In short, our current system and philosophy is creating a country of a few million overlords and 300+ million serfs.
There will be 24 states with right-to-work laws as early as next week when Michigan joins the ranks.... You can caddy for them for an eternity Teddy, but they will never let you join the Country Club.
Interesting articles, thanks for linking. Unfortunately, the body of the 1st article doesn't support the headline when examined critically.
The middle class hasn't "shrunk" - that's a nonsense claim on its face. The "middle class" is - by definition - whatever middle %'age of the population you wish to define it as. Let's say it's all but the bottom and top quintiles in terms of income (or, if you prefer, wealth). Once defined, that 60% of the population that's "middle class" will ALWAYS be the same size - the middle 60%.
But these 60% are not the same INDIVIDUALS - the other great fallacy of the class warriors' cant. Over their lives, people move up and down the socioeconomic scale, from poor student to wealthy yuppie, and back to penniless elderly person in an old folks' home.
The real thrust of these class war screeds - and your argument - is that the top quintile has seen its share of national income (or wealth, if you prefer) increase more than the lower quintiles have.
Sure. No news. Welcome to a capitalist free-market society. The top 20% will ALWAYS make out better than the bottom 80%- BY DEFINITION. Yes, the top 2% is doing better than normal in the current era - but this is a cycle, and it's not at all unprecedented in US history:

When depressions and wars collapse economies and capital wealth, the top 10% whose income and wealth is tied up with capital rather than wages LOSES bigger than the lower quintiles also - and their time is coming again (without any need of Government getting handy doing what they do so well - squandering EVERYBODY'S scarce wealth via tax-and-spend fiscal policies).

Moreover, the other fallacy in the class warriors' cant they don't like to admit is that while income (or wealth) inequality may well have increased in the US over the past 40 years, peoples' wealth and income have generally increased AT ALL ECONOMIC LEVELS. The rising economic tide HAS in fact floated pretty much all boats, just some higher than others. And that's what's really got you and your fellow progressive socialist class warriors pissed off - that it's increased more for the top than for the bottom.

Well, that's just tough darts. This ain't commie China or Europe. Life ain't fair. We have both winners and losers in the US. So it always has been, so shall it always be. The alternative is Greece. There is no magic middle road. I completely agree with you that our current system and philosophy is creating a country of a few million overlords and 300+ million serfs. However, it is the permanent professional political class that rules Fedzilla who are the Overloards, and the Serfs are the growing number of Americans who have signed on to the culture of Government Dependency.

Stirring up class jealousies over this simple truth isn't helpful, and long historical experience proves that over the long run, this kind of progressive socialist income- and wealth-redistributionist class warfare does more damage to the very people and classes you profess to be fighting for.

As for Right-to-Work: great step forward for Michigan, liberating Michigan workers from the yoke of Union oppression. Unions will have their day again - when they have learned again to deliver VALUE to the workers that fund them instead of relying on legalized extortion.

Oh - and as for your little lefty slogan about the country club; it might have been halfway witty the first 100,000 times it was parrotted across the internet. Now it's just tragically lame. You can do better.

Ticked off? Nah - as expected. Disappointed? Yes. As a growing number of other Americans are as well, as the carefully hidden horrors of the Obama/Pelosi/Reid tax-and-spend Big Government progressive cabal's program now are being revealed to them, with The Incompetent One now safely re-elected:
"Election over, administration unleashes new rules:"
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_OBA...
"Blue Shield of California seeks rate hikes up to 20%"
http://www.latimes.com/business/la-fi-blue-sh...
"WASHINGTON (AP)-- The Federal Reserve projects the unemployment rate will stay elevated until late 2015"
http://hosted.ap.org/dynamic/stories/U/US_FED...
And on top of this, a new Obamacare tax hits ten million low- and middle-income sick people with high medical bills on Jan. 1. The average family that's getting whacked by this new ObamaTax makes just over $53,000 and will face a tax increase of between $200 –$400 per year.
And the hits are gonna just keep on coming for the next 4 years. Elections have consequences. Now eat your peas.
(And look at that! Not a single "Fox News" source there! How is that POSSIBLE??!!)
