Medina is not the only school system that is going through this busing issue. Olmsted Falls is having the same issue and the drop off routine was a nightmare this morning. OK, OF parents, let's get this levy passed or find the money somewhere!!

Avon Lake hasn't had busing for high school in many years and they get by. Maybe if you hadn't been busing high schools students all along, you wouldn't be in this position. Guess you need to pass your levies. I thought Olmsted Falls had such a great school system. Guess the parents have had enough.

Its not safe for children to walk to school now days. If mine were still young enough to be in school, I wouldn't let them walk by themselves.

High school kids are old enough to walk to school. And besides, don't most of them get cars from mommy and daddy? My son got his from his grandma. We were the poor folks.:)

True the roads to some of these schools don't have any sidewalks but understand years ago the people driving didn't aim at the kids and try to hit them. Today its a whole lot different I agree but the parents today have to realize that the only place to have a tax revolt is with the house taxes imposed by the local city government and most voters don't have kids in school and will not pass those school issues. Most mature homeowners bought their houses figuring the principle, interest and house tax for the finial cost of the home. Then every year they are hit with a school Levi and see the house payment creep up each year now look at all the empty houses and lost tax revenue the homeowners have to cover for all those foreclosed house and are angry.

Also, reread my post 2miles up and 3 miles up back. duh

This is a joke. Medina schools have spend millions on new schools etc, now they are crying for money? Screw the schools.

One poster was right...it's like driving a new BMW to the unemployment line and crying you can't make your car payment.

Either you are texting while driving, or just plain stupid. I'll go with the latter.

It's amazing how the school board can punnish the students for their mis-management of funds. For the 2009-2010 school year, 2 brand new elementary buildings were opened and a kindergarten center were closed. New jobs were created, yet the district is out of money and must rais pay to participate for student athletes, eliminate bus routes and hope people can change their hours to accomodate the issues they have made for themselves. I do not see Randy Stepp or the board members offering to take a salary cut in what is undoubtedly one of Northeast Ohio's highest property taxed areas. School Districts that play hardball should be penalized by the state.

I agree. You make no sense. I will take the latter. You are just ignorant. 9th graders in many school districts have to get their own butts to school. Maybe you should spend more time in English class. You really need help.

Part of the problem is so many renters. They don't pay property taxes but can vote on levies. Does Medina have an illegal Mexican problem?
