Will Stephanie Gomes remove herself from voting on any matters that affect the Police Department or the Police Union. I would say she would have to considering her husband to be is a member of the police union, even in retirement.

That is disgusting! Pearsall is a creepy old man, who womanizes in the best way possible.

I thought Gomes was smarter not to date creepy old men twice her age.

Persal will not be the next police chief. He can't. If Gomes and Persol are going to get married, then this will be illegal. Remember, Gomes and Shivley made a big deal about "family" members, brothers and Husband and wives both working for the city of Vallejo. Well, Gomes can pull out of city council or Tony can just forget about Chief.

Besides, VPOA would have a "vote of no confidence" the first day.

Sonny sez: Looks like a good deal for Gomes' long term security, if this is true, of course.

And what did you expect from the loony Liberal progressives (i.e.- Democrats)?
Don't we have too many people on City Council already with conflicts of interest?
Morality and, God forbid, religion means absolutely nothing to these people.

Congratulations. However, I do think there are policies regarding spouses supervising another spouse while working for the the same employer. I thought Shively wanted to inact a nepostism policy. I'm a bid bothered with Gomes as she wanted to be the one to fight the greed in Vallejo but at the same times she is "sleeping with the enemy."

So many petty and jealous people. Always in other people's business and running your mouth like someone cares about your opinion. Are you all that miserable that you need to gossip on a blog? Get a life. No one cares what you think and I'm sure that Gomes and Pearsal can care less. Get a life you all.

If Gomes doesn't want to have her life be public, then she shouldn't be a public figure, and make broad statements that pull her into conflicts on the very points she complains about. Perhaps you need to get a brain.

Certainly public figures should be scrutinized as it relates to public service/business/voting record. But I think people are crossing over the line of what is acceptable/unacceptabel behavior & comments.

I have to agree with NotURBusiness.

Stephanie Gomes screwed around with a married Tony Pearsall while BOTH of them were serving on the city council. THAT is what is crossing over the line of what is acceptable in behavior. It also speaks to their moral standing.

I can see it now, Gomes telling Tony how to run the police department. Because Tony could not do it by himself.
