This thread brings back a lot of memories for me.
I used to love going to Gold Rush and getting frozen yogurt!
I went to Helen Walkers ballet studio, does anyone remember her? I used to live on (millersville) Springs Rd, and would walk by myself the 8 houses down to her studio, after dark, at like 7 and 8 years old. Those were the days!
Thats were I grew up also you were right those were the days I close to kenny's shoes

Freddys China Barn. And having our older sisters friend take us to the drive in on Benicia Road and when she would go to the snack bar we would roll her car forward so she couldnt find us.

Mrs. Leonard was my counselor from 75 to 78. She was still counselor at Vallejo high when my children graduated from Vallejo between 2003 to 2005. Then woman has counseled at Vallejo high for ages. She was there few years before me and my children's dad entered high school. I recognized all of the teacher's names.

The present Sciambra Bakery in Napa that delivers to most of Vallejo is descended from Passini's Bakery on Georgia Street where Solano Ave. intersects. We used to get fresh hot french bread there and the lady behind the counter would always let the kids pick a free cookie.

I remember this bakery. I also remember that when they closed the bakery in Vallejo they found bank certificates or stocks hidden in the walls of the brick oven.

Wow that would be where the old Joe Butts TV shop used to be? And didn't Hal's appliance used to be a drive through? I remember getting root beer floats there in the mid 60's

God remember the Passini's mural of the chef on the brick wall? I used to see that walking to school everyday.

Speaking about the dairy cow drive through. As a teenage prank me and a group of students unbolted the cow from place then drove up and down Springs road with it in the back of a truck till the cops escorted us back to bolt it back in place.

The drive in was called Toby Jean's and I can still taste the malt I never liked when they put it in the shakes. It was a separate building between Hal's and the barber shop/liquor store building.

Ah, yes, as I recall it was a quintessential french baker with the narrow pointed moustache. The whole neighborhood would fill with the aroma of baking bread.

Well I'm a few days late on this but we used to have the Circus Vargas down the hill from us by the waterfront. We used to stop at Greens Liquors on the way to school for candy. I was just a kid about 8-9yrs old. We used to go to the Mini Drive and Sonoma Blvd to an arcarde that then turned into a camper shell retail store. Anyone out there remember any of that. How about Victory's to by your Ben Davis and Dickies. I know it's still there. Where else could you go and write your name on the wall in the dressing room and not get in trouble.

remember when Hahn's park was called Sherwood Forest? And nobody can duplicate Home Bakery's Champagne cake! What about Mr. Yeoman at Vallejo Jr. High, or the bats in the main building at Vallejo Sr??
