Amazed...again
http://www.timesheraldonline.com/letters/ci_2...

Vallejo never ceases to amaze me. The city council can approve another Walmart to come here, but was opposed to Winco in the beginning, and is still up in the air as to whether we will get one.

People were worried about the traffic jams Winco would cause. What am I missing? Another Walmart will only add to the jam-ups on Sonoma Boulevard and Highway 29. And that's OK?

It's no small wonder why businesses don't want to come here. That we should be jumping up and down for another Walmart is insane! Although I am grateful that it will bring jobs to the town, I don't feel we need one. I think we should be trying to target other stores to come here to our town rather than have two or three of everything -- Walgreens, CVS, McDonald's, Burger King, Safeway, Starbucks.

Really now? Am I the only one who sees a reoccurring theme here?

Why don't we open another FoodMaxx and put it where Kmart was? In the old Walmart store, open another Raley's so we can keep the trend going. We can't even decide what to do with Mare Island for the most part and it's been closed longer than the old Mervyn's store.

It's unfortunate that we can't break the cycle and try something NEW for a change rather than rely on the same old thing. This reaffirms my belief that Vallejo is afraid of change. It's too bad -- the town could prosper from it.

Another of Joe Feller's misguided fools is heard from. Unions and their thug tactics are out honey, get used to it.
