A 53-year-old man was stabbed Sunday night after an argument, Vallejo police said.

Officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Fordham Circle at about 6:15 p.m. on a report of a stabbing.

The victim said he was walking in the area of Fordham Circle and Mills Lane when two men began heckling him and calling him names.

The three men got into a verbal altercation and the two suspects began chasing the victim, police said. One caught up and stabbed him in his back, causing a large wound, police said.

Officers detained two possible suspects but the victim refused to "conduct an in-field lineup for fear of retaliation," police said.

The men detained were released, and the victim was transported to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries, police added.

The suspects were described as two Hispanic men, mid to late 30s, 5 feet, 10 inches, about 175 pounds. One was wearing a baseball cap.

Can we even call ourselves civilized at this point? I realize certain communities are devolving(my new word) but we don't appear to be a civilized society any longer. We are starting to resemble the news footage from the middle east, with droves of citizens throwing rocks. Had to go to a meeting in Oakland on Friday and there are parts of that city that literally look like a war zone. Why is everyone ignoring the obvious?

Ah.. knives. Well cousin they are legal. Silent. But not as easy to use as you might think. In fact there are very effective ways to take one away from another person and use it on them. Unless you know what your doing I advise against a knife. People see a knife and get scared, thats the advantage. But you HAVE to get in real close to use it. Most knife attacks end up with the aggressor being cut up pretty bad too. Hell a pencil or pen works too. People have been sticking each other since the dawn of man.

Sometimes the penis is referred to as a metaphorical weapon for stabbing.
