White Moose in Valdez,Alaska

This moose is not in Valdez. There are no moose in town, the closest moose are on the other side of Keystone Canyon. The snow in Valdez is too deep for the moose to live and eat there in the winter. The trees behind the moose give me a hint as to where the picture was taken, however, and so does the snow amount on the ground. This appears to be in the southern Copper Basin just on the other side of the Chugach Mountains. Very close to Valdez.

Actually Wendy, there are moose in Valdez. I lived there for most of my life. They are rare to see around town, but if you didn't know, Valdez's city limits go out 17 miles from town.
I live on the Kenai peninsula now, where there are many many many more moose. srsly, theres a lot here.
