The folks working at the jail should be held accountable for ignoring the pleas of the family and the decedent. There are cells away from general population that hold 4 people, and the inmates in those cells are only let out for showers. That would have been a much better option. The problem with being in the gen. population lock-up is that the inmate has a choice at meal time whether or not to come out with the others to eat, or to be locked in alone. If they choose to be locked in, they will be alone for about 3-4 hours, then when their cell mate(s)return they will remain in their cell another 3-4 hours until the next meal. Then at that point they can choose once again to remain locked in alone, or join the rest for a meal. I have seen some guys stay in alone for 2 out of 3 meals almost every single day. So it's not uncommon for an inmate to choose this option. That's why I think it's important for the jail to listen to the warnings family members and inmates are trying to convey to the jail. This guy would still be alive had the jail chosen the first option I described.

Here is the problem the idea that it is everyone elses fault. We look a criminals and say poor criminals lets blame the drugs there parents video games or what ever sounds good at the time to make the criminal not be the one at fault. So he tries to kill him self in a jail and it is the fault of the police. That is what is wrong with the world no Accountability.

Amen!!!
You just said a mouthful. I used to tell both of my son's when they were growing up that they were in full control of what happens to them in life. Anytime they started trying to blame anyone or anything else I would tell them that if they wanted to know who's fault it was to go into the bathroom and look in the mirror. My 5 year old grandson told me a couple of months that he needed to talk to me about a mirror. I asked him why and he said I don't know that's what daddy told me.

OK, then let us apply the same logic to what happened at the jail. Hypothetically, if you were an employee at the jail, and knowing that protocols have been set in place for avoiding certain situations, yet you overlooked implementing these procedures when the family and the decedent made you aware of the circumstances, then you're left looking in the mirror at who is to blame. It was within your control to do your job, yet you chose to pay no attention to it.

Well if you took the time to read anything about this you would have seen that it states that the guy's family claims that he had "expressed suicidal thoughts" but the CCSO says he gave no indications. IMHO the time for getting him help was before there "beloved son" had gotten so far into the drug life that he had quit working, quit providing for son had started stealing from his dying mom got caught and she had him locked up and couldn't get his drug of choice anymore. But before anyone can be helped they have to be willing and want to help themselves . You can play the blame game until you're blue in the face but in the end it always comes back to being that you were the only one who could have changed the results.

Yeah right... CCSO would never lie to cover up their mistakes.
It's not a game! Blaming someone for killing themself is like blaming someone for having MS, Autism, or Parkinsonís (etc.)
There is only so much that a person can do to fight depression, sometimes they lose their battle.
Where is your compassion for humanity?
I don't care what kind of scumbag you think someone is, you become no better than them when you fail to separate the sinner from the sin.
This is still a human being that died, and if there is any chance that CCSO did not follow procedure, then it's worth looking into.

The "human being" you are referring to died by his own choice. Took the easy way out just like he had done with everything in his life and WTF are you talking about my "compassion for humanity"?
Was "compassion for humanity" the reason he abandoned his son for drugs and left it up to his dying mother to care for him, or was that "depression"? Did "compassion for humanity" cause him to steal his dying mothers jewelry and sell it to the Gold King? Do you think that The Gold King gave him a far better more compassionate price because he didn't wait to sell until after she died? He had a damn choice. He could have got into rehab and dealt with his drug problem but instead he chose to abandon his child, not work, steal from his mother and stay just as high as he could on somebody else's dime. None of this was any problem at all to him until he got caught and locked up. But yet in your mind it's the Sheriffs fault that he hung himself not his. I understand that you got locked up and you hate the Sheriffs dept for that. In your mind It's all their fault that you got locked up, couldn't have been any of yours so let's just do away with laws and punishment of any kind, turn them all loose back out into the streets and give em' a hug and say try not to be mean no more. How damn old are you 12?

Yeah right I guess they should have changed his shitty diaper too. I guess it's also Caldwell County's fault that the whole damn Braswell/Whisnant clan ain't nothing but a lowlife theft ring and have been for over 30 years. There's still at least three more of the SOB's in there right now and TJ. just got out but he will be back in a couple of weeks. Hanging himself was probably the only decent thing the guy ever done in his whole worthless life!!! It's a pity when a family has to have a their reunion at the county jail.

I was only trying convey a point about jail protocol or the lack thereof, and not here to debate the criminal justice system. Have a nice day.

If Jason was such a good man and so intent on raising his son, then why did he abandon him? Are you so eff'ing stupid that you don't understand that when the clueless idiot hanged himself he abandoned his son forever? Did it ever enter your doped out skull that now that his dear old roadwhore of a mom is dying that Jason's son might of have needed him just a little bit? Excuse me but I guess it's my fault for a moment there I forgot just exactly what kind of scum I was talking to. I guess his son can now assume his fathers place in the toothless inbred theft ring. Maybe the kid will be tough enough to build his time. One thing is for sure though, if he remains in your family of lazy assed misfits, thieves and druggies he don't have a chance!!!

Thanks, Steve, by giving me your name along with this post I should have enough to press charges for communicating threats. Communication threats via the internet is a Felony I do believe.

Care to leave me your address too? It will make it easier for the cops to track you down. If not, your name will suffice.

Yours truly,
