I am scared to death, "of what you say" of the economic failure
that is coming, the anarchy, the civil unrest the complete breakdown of society. You can sit there and say this guy is an absolute fool if you want but I tell all you people, you better wise up, like Dylan sang in one of his songs,"a hard rain is going to fall"

Time is running out. We can save ourselves, well me and a few more can only if we get prepared. With a place to shelter the coming storm.

I have a perfect place to build an underground bunker I just need financial help in building it. If you are thinking what I am thinking and how I am thinking quit thinking. Time is getting short, we need to move.
I would never dream of putting this out on this forum if I were not totally convinced that what I am saying is real.

I want to get the ball rolling, lots of plans, checking and materials to buy much work to be done.

Two people working toward a common cause is better than one.

come on with the wise cracks and ridicule I expect it.

You are 100% correct but most people don't see it coming. The events in Cyprus are just a preview of what's to come here soon. I have posted here a coupe times seeking like minded people but like you said all you get is smart a$$ed responses. Then you get those that confuse religious end of times mixed up with economic downfalls. I have learned everytime I use the word prepping then people either have no clue or confuse it with tinfoil hat extremist of doomsday. I like to call it preparedness. We have looked for groups here but like you found none closer than Asheville. We very much would like to meet up and talk , even if only to share ideas. Now of course the hard part, how to connect without drawing every flake and fake person into our communication. I believe events are soon coming and being prepared only makes sense and as always, there is safety in numbers. Let's figure out a way to discuss this more

We have been working on long term food storage as grocers only carry about a 3 day supply if demand peaks. People don't realize if we have a power disruption either natural or manmade or as in the euro countries where banks are closed for a week at a time people have no funds to purchase items, after a few days civil unrest begins. Our media here has talked some the banking failure in Cyprus but failed to show the rioting, looting and unrest there, thankfully the British media has covered it.

Great seeing others like me. My friends think I am nuts when I talk about bug out bags or storing food and water. I don't even try to tell anyone my ideas anymore because they just laugh. Would be great to get together with more interested people that you could trust and was serious about things

I'm all for it. I have interest, knowledge and resources/supplies but lack a good location. The time is coming soon I agree. I think not in years to come but rather in months we will begin to see the system begin to falter and those prepared will ride the storm out, those that are not will fall but those prepared will have to fend off those not prepared. As the other post said, safety in numbers. How can I contact you guys? I am very interested and very real.

I agree, alternate way to discuss issues has to be found other than an open forum. This is a great way of making initial contacts with interested others but not for general conversations.

Well I thought i would get some crazy people responding. I know a way to hook up, I think without divulging our unanimity. Understand I have a perfect place.
I have skills and knowledge to bring to the table. I will share with anyone.
I am growing food supplies for storage.
I am looking for the right person or person.
I agree this is no place to discuss these matters.
Thanks guys/girls or whatever, we will survive.

I will say I am surprised as well at the decent responses so far. I also have both rural and urban survival skills, along with some needed supplies and continuing to expand. I am what most refer to as an intermediate prepper meaning I take it serious but not a totally over the top nut like tv often portrays. I look forward to discussing this more as I too have sought others sharing the same interest but for some reason locally people do not have either an interest or the forethought to prepare. I assume we could set up an email account to make contact and hopefully filter out the false replies and move forward from there or if you have an idea as to how to hook up, let me know.

we need to find a meeting place and start an association of like minded individuals.

If anyone has a place in mind let us know we need to share info, I was thinking a place like a restaurant or a fellowship hall. Any ideas?

After some initial meetings, then camping right out in the elements actually using our skills.

Does this sound ok

I was thinking maybe AJ's, we don't have to eat.(-:

Really do you know some people or a better place.

It might be you and me. Anyone is welcome.

I really believe this is vital and interesting. Meeting new people that could help me with their knowledge. The possibility I could help someone overwhelms me with any tid bits of my skills. Hey going out camping and roughing it...aint half bad either.
Let this stew awhile, who knows.

I am not sure if it is a lack of interest or lack of general knowledge but not many people seem to be concerned in this region about preparedness. Just a quick glance at the altered unemployment figures, gold prices, national debt, spending deficits , fiat currencies, global currencies and a lack of governmental controls, one can quickly see the rising stock market index is nothing more than an artificial method to draw people back into the market thus transferring wealth back into the coffers of big business. Problem is the bubble will burst soon and when it does this time the effects will be tremendous, driving our economy into hyper inflation and basically devalue the US currency, which I think will put us on the road the a global currency. Cyprus was a small test case, Greece and Spain will default next along with Japan, which is basically bankrupt already. How does it effect you?? Do some basic research and see, you will be shocked at the possible outcomes we face. Think the stock market does not effect you? Wrong, it effects everything you do from 401k, fuel prices, food cost, purchasing power of your income, home values, job stability and those are just the small ripple effects. Is it the end of the world? Of course not, but will be the end of the world as we have known it the past 75 years. Wait and see, I don't think it will take long.
