Only in Caldwell county. Totally tasteless.. On any given day the LNT is useless reporting news unless it benefits a few select entities but this edition truly shows the full scope of unprofessionalism.

As tasteless as it looks, I'd say, they had permission from the family to do it. As strict as medical information and the such are now adays, anyway. I'd also figure it's a publicity stunt (it got your attention, didn't it?)- working up to a law suit being filed. I may be wrong, but wait and see.

what were they supposed to do? THERE WAS NO PROOF he was suicidal, and having a parent or friend say that he might be does not mean he should be placed on suicide watch! If that were the case then every inmate that passes through the jail would be on suicide watch. He killed himself b/c he did not want to face prison time if he had made bail, i guarantee he would have killed himself then too.

and the CCSO would be paying for anything, I as a taxpayer will, and so will you and the 80,000 other residents of this county.....the only benefit to anyone is to the family who is just looking for a payout.

Sounds like a true captain speaking. I guess if any family shows up with meds and the rx bottle says it is for the person incarcerated and Dr faxes can back it up it isn't the CCSO responsibility to make sure their prisoner gets meds. If a family member tells the CCSO that a prisoner is allergic to certain things, its not the responsibility of the CCSO to make sure the prisoner is out of harms way. So anyone in the jail that is a prisoner of the CCSO is really on their own and a family member should be available 24/7 to watch out for their family because the CCSO isn't responsible for anything that goes on in their facility under their watch?? So. Hypothetically speaking, what if the jail caught on fire. A few prisoners die, then after the fact we all learn the sprinklers failed despite being inspected, this is probably the prisoners fault too right? Let's say a venomous snake bit a few prisoners, in your jail, also not your fault too right? EBay sells camera replacement parts and new cameras much less than whomever the tax dollars paid when the site was built. Oh, I bet the excuse is this jail is now too old and the department needs another $4 million to update everything because the cell doors are literally falling off the hinges. How about a donation for the jail from the Sheriffs Secretary, Amy Morgan....the alleged embezzlement queen? I bet she could help you out, she was never been charged or forced to liquidate her assets.

Good move tacky NewsLess Topic. Working for "?@$e" ?? This family wasn't out for blood, but after this stunt, I hope they clean your clock.

I would say your analysis is correct, with legal restrictions so tight concerning patient rights and privacy, the family had to consent to this unprofessional display of journalism

That whole is a bunch of crap I know his dad Calvin and he a point blank worthless thieving POS. The guy's mom is the one that told the law that he stole her jewelry and pain pills she's the one that had him locked up in the first place. Why would she have done that if she knew he was suicidal? They are just looking for a payday that's all.
