if all of the Antarctics ice was to melt, oceans would rise by 60 - 65m globally, we have a looong way to go.

Likelihood that the minute variations we are seeing today could turn into that sort of scope? unknown.. the science of Antarctica is in its infancy.

The West Antarctic Ice Sheet is, in places, over 2000 m thick, with the geological floor well below sea level. The marine basins are variable, with both rough mountainous terrain and flat, deep oceanic basins[2], with a maximum depth of 2555 m below present sea level.

Satellite radar altimetry measurements indicate that the East Antarctic ice-sheet interior north of 81.6S increased in mass by 45 7 billion metric tons per year from 1992 to 2003. Comparisons with contemporaneous meteorological model snowfall estimates suggest that the gain in mass was associated with increased precipitation. A gain of this magnitude is enough to slow sea-level rise by 0.12 0.02 millimeters per year.

In short, Antarctica is a large Continent. Typically you will have events in any given decade in any given area - akin to a regional drought - which may appear unfavourable, but when balanced across the continent (otherwise known as being in context) it shows clarity of the situation.

No need to fear, we wont drown.
