She had a stroke.
This should serve as a reminder to all to check your blood pressure. Stay on top of hypertension. It's the silent killer; killed my mom when she was too young to die and it almost got me, but I have mine under control. Age doesn't matter, either.

It's in The Reporter Monday web edition. I copied it. The full story will be in tomorrow. I found out from someone else she had a stroke. That's why the mayor was not at the Saturday public budget meeting. She was in the hospital then.

I get my blood pressure checked pretty frequently, I can tell you. They both died instantly.

I am so sorry you had to go through that. What a terrible trajedy. My mother simply went to bed one night and didn't wake up. Some say that's the way to die; I say it was too soon. She was only 73. She simply didn't take care of her hypertension. I, myself, found out about my high blood pressure when an oral surgeon was preparing to pull a molar. My bp was so high he almost refused to do the job; and scheduled an appointment with my PCP the same day.
You should keep your own cuff at home.

I go for a checkup twice a year. My blood pressure was starting to creep up a few years ago so I lost a lot of weight. It's always at normal now, or even slightly below, ever since.
