I feel so sorry for the vehicle driver. I hope he didn't get hurt or did any damage to his car. One fewer bicyclist on the road.

“The bicyclist sustained mild to moderate injuries and was transported by Medic Ambulance to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center.”

Where her injuries were made worse.

why would you make such an ignorant statement? It is unknown if it was the drivers fault, or the cyclist.
No ignorance here toots. Cyclists area a parasite on the roads. They think they own the road and don't have to follow the vehicle code when out on their little spins. Red lights are only for cars.

That arrogance seems to apply to cycling adults of any age. I’ve heard many times about the old fogies that ride their bicycles or tricycles all day in Leisure Town, up and down the “Circle” streets and out onto Yellowstone, who never stop for stop signs. They also ride in the middle of the “Circle” streets and don’t seem to care whether cars are coming.

No mention of the bicycle having lights, I'll bet not.
But of course if the poor car driver had a drink prior to hitting the unlit idiot they would still get the. Blame.

hello, I'am the person who was hit by that car. The driver was coming onto sunset from bonfaire market. Yes i had my lights on, if fact a really big front light and and back light that blinks.
I respect your opinion about people who ride bikes, yes there are some who dont follow rules and risk alot of people including themselves, but just like car drivers there are alot of drivers who dont follow rules and risk alot of people including themselves. Bottom line with everyone losing their jobs, cars, their homes, can't find work, money troubles, gas prices, cost of living, ect... more and more are finding themselves in situations where riding a bike is their only way of transportation... instead of the two sides fighting and pointing fingers, maybe we should take a look at new laws, codes, statues, rules, bills, manuals, fees, fines, or whatever so the two can coexist. The one thing that is absolute is change and that is what is coming in the future.

I'm the driver that hit the bicyclist. There was no headlight, no reflective clothing, nothing. The bottom line is this idiot thought she owned the road and found out otherwise. The vehicle code needs to be changed to keep bicycles off the road for the safety of motorists. Go ride your bike on a designated bike trail and take a bus to work if you can't drive a car.
