Why the lack of information? Drinking, Druging and Driving KILL. High Rates of Speed - Kills. We can't say this enough to kids who think they are grown up only to die before they really are.

I am so sorry to the families of these young kids.. the lack of info is because it is the respectful thing to notify the family of a death before they print it in the paper.. have a heart. Drugs do play a role in a lot of crashes but you cannot jump to conclusions as to if these kids were drinking.. they still deserve respect because they have MOTHERS and FATHERS BROTHERS and SISTERS that will have to bury them.. My heart goes out to them.. for nobody should have to go through this tradgety.

so sorry for the families of these kids. I live near the crash site and have worried that this type of an accident was very possible. Hopefully this will never happen again

Six teenagers, five seat belts, four life flight helicopters, one walnut tree = disaster.

Car vs. walnut tree. Tree never moves. Car always loses.

Mature adults do the same things you mention. It is a tragedy that this happened, but let the facts be known before we jump to conclusions. As mentioned before, the lack of information is out of respect to the next of kin.

This is indeed unfortunate, and if lack of seatbelts (as noted in one of the previous posts as a possibility) were the cause of this young persons death, this was very preventable. Right now however our thoughts and prayers are with the family of this young girl.

Wow. Are you one of those people that get along better with animals because no human can bear to be in your presence? You obviously have no sympathy, respect or appreciation for human life. Sure, these kids made a bad decision.. But they are exactly that.. KIDS.. the time in your life where you make dumb mistakes and learn from them...
Since WHEN are people in their early 20's considered kids ? They are adults, and it was not a "bad decision", as you put it. A bad decision would be, "I should've taken the other way to work. Now I'm stuck in traffic.", or "I shouldn't have ordered the shellfish. I don't feel very well.". THAT is a bad decision. What happened here was reckless endangerment, negligence, and failure to obey the law.

This is a horrible accident, I am so sad for their families, so sad that no adults educated their children about wearing seatbelts, furthermore about driving in a car with out enough seatbelts. This is a tragedy all the way around.

There's almost always a tree involved in these backroad speeding deaths. Pleasants Valley has its share, too. Do trees have magnets?

Actually, the girl killed was a recent High School graduate..and from all accounts, a lovely young lady. Alcohol was not found at the scene. To assume drugs are involved is slanderous. Regardless, unfortunately, younger people are often the victims of car accidents. AS MOST OF US CAN REMEMBER, they tend to speed, have less fear, and tend to be a little reckless. All part of youth. ANOTHER thought...Deer are VERY common in this area. At that time of evening,(dusk) they are very active. This road has had several accidents involving deer. Please don't assume the worst & cause this poor family any more pain. Lives were lost, people were hurt. It is such a tragedy!

I am hoping that all the commenters who were/are friends with the victims are really READING the article. This could happen to you. You could have been in their place! We parents can preach and nag all we want, but, once our (adult) children are in their vehicles and driving on their own, they are making their own decisions. And some of those decisions can kill them or their friends. I grieve for their families because "I told you so" isn't going to help right now, or bring their dead back. Sad situation all around.
