This guy would have made a great candidate. I hope he will run some time in the near future. I look forward to voting for him when he does decide to run!

"Murphy said that even though he won't seek election this time around, he is still concerned about the candidates who have pulled papers so he is putting forth the effort to recruit suitable candidates."

And what makes him think he is qualified to be the judge of who is a "suitable" candidate? Last time I looked, it was up to the voter to make that call.

If that is truly what he said, it sounds more than a bit haughty - at least to me.

Coucilman Chuck Dimmick on Saturday said the other candidates were disappointing, and they are. It is a shame the best candidate decided not to run. I wish he would reconsider this.

So...what does that make now, three open seats next election? BOOM BOOM BOOM, another one bites the dust!

These egocentric councilmen think nobody can be better than they are at that job. That's what the greeter dog told me.

I wish he would reconsider. He seems like a regular kind of guy and the current group isn't all that impressive.

Two seats open on the council this time around: The ones now held by Dimmick and Wilkins. The other three don't come up for another two years.

Thanks. The greeter dog miscounted and I believed her. No mid-day milk bone for her today. An extra workout for her this evening might be in order too to clear her mind.

So what do we have left two elected and one appointed councilmen.

I watched the most recent council meeting on television the other day. BORING.

Watching a VV City Council Meeting could be an alternative to sleeping pills. I'm glad I wasn't driving or operating heavy equipment at the time.

Wow...this could be a new weapon in the war on terror. Broadcast the VV City Council Meetings on Iraqi television, everyone goes to sleep.

While I appreciate anyone who would actually choose to run for public office, I do take offense at Mr. Murphy and Mr. Dimmick's comments about a lack of quality of those potential candidates for Vacaville City Council. First of all, Mr. Murphy, who is was an appointed member of the Solano College School Board, not elected, has not earned any public stripes to make such a comment. Did he actually think that he was highly qualified? As for Mr. Dimmick. Can anyone name one thing that Mr. Dimmick spearheaded as a member of the city council that actually passed and meant something to the general public? I say this because neither man has a right to cast judgement on others. While I may not be a fan of school board member Jay Yerkes, the fact is Mr. Yerkes would trounce either man in a "head to head" election. He is educated, has been elected twice to public office, has name recognition, is connected to the community. What has Mr. Murphy done or Mr. Dimmick? I applaud anyone who chooses to run for public office. We need more people who are committed to a better Vacaville. By the way, what happened to that $12,000 Mr. Murphy announced that he had for his campaign? He never even had two nickles to rub together. Good luck to anyone who chooses to run for public office. However, the best think Mr. Murphy and Mr. Dimmick can do now is to shut their mouths and let the real candidates run for office.

Captain America is Jay Yerkes. Nasty and verbose. Dead last in School Board race, still angry.

Why do you take offense? For someone whose location claims to be Napa, you sure seem aggressive about Vacaville politics. And exactly why aren't you a fan of Mr. Yerkes?

Correct me if I am wrong, but the "location" you see beneath a poster's name is the location of their IP address. My work PC says FF; my home PC changes location from time to time from "Fremont", "San Leandro", etc. but I live in VV

1. I'm not Jay Yerkes. If I was I would tell you. I've never met the man, but have seen him on channel 26 during school board meetings.

2. Debbie Bounds is correct. I've lived in Vacaville for almost 30 years. My IP address says Napa (that is where the server is located), but trust me, I'm sitting in my home office using my lap top, in Browns Valley, with a small dog sitting on my lap, sipping a nice cool ice tea (with lemon) while responding to these coolaide drinking Mike Murphy followers.

Your boy QUIT before he ever got into the race. Your supporting someone who doesn't even matter anymore. He's a non-factor. Get over it.

This is really funny. Captain America is my 57 year old grandfather. I won't say his last name, but his first name is Paul. He is not Jay Yerkes. I really enjoy your comments and I know my granfather get's a laugh at most of your replies. I thought I'd share this with you.
