Some people should just not have children in their care but at least it saves us money from welfare benefits.

Observer you are reaching for attention, misguided point here. The fact is the 4 children were lost. This is a profound loss, end of story. Prayers are with the young victims and their mothers.
The power had been shut off, this is happening more and more in todays economic reality. Candles are on for light. Deadly fire. This could happen to all of us. These women will not face charges in my opinion. Show compassion not disdain.

You must have a lead a very pathetic life to use something like this tragedy to make yourself feel superior. Give yourself a big hug and pat on the back for being without sin or error. Better yet, go eff yourself...

No it cant because the mothers were not even in the house! They were 30ft from it getting high in a parking lot. The mom of one of the victims actually did her interview in a SF 420 marijuana shirt -real classy. How dare you feel for the "mothers", they dont even deserve to be called that.
I agree, with everything this person has said. if you cant afford and be responsible for one kid then quit having them. and i would never believe a word out of someones mouth that leaves kids 4 years and under alone in a room with no power and candles burning. Since i had my son. i worked hard to keep food on the table and the power on. yes the economy is rough, but if you want something bad enough you make it happen. if people would put the same effort into an honest job that they do into finding a way to get handouts then people like this would not be in this situation. i would never wish what happened here to anyone, but 4 innocent kids are dead because of 2 stupid selfish moms. Then they have the nerve to try and lie about how the fire started, saying there was no candles. Ok, so your power is off, its dark and there is no candles.??? You have the states top fire investigators saying that there was candles..who do you believe? A stupid lady with a 420 shirt who leaves her kids alone to get some dope? or the best state investigators? they are to blame. in my eyes they deserve no sympathy! They caused this to happen and they killed their kids.

No this couldn't happen to all of us because I for one would not ever leave my child unattended with burning candles and never did and especially with combustibles nearby. I also had PGE turned off was much younger and there's just no way I wouldn't be dead trying to save my kids.

There were two moms and one should have been in that apartment. With that said, they will have to live with this the rest of their lives and that in and of itself is reason to be prayerful. But four kids were burnt to death because they were neglected!

May God bless those 4 innocent children and their families. What a terrible way to die...I can not begin to imagine their pain. I take a sigh of relief knowing that the children are with the Lord and are safe from anymore harm.

Where did you guys get the rest of the story? I didn't hear about them not being in the apartment or the drug purchases?
Watch the news and you will see too. 420 shirt, unbelievable. My husband said last night " she did not just have on a 420 shirt?" I said "NOOOO, it was a 49er shirt". I have to apologize to him today when he gets home from work. After seeing other news interviews of her, I saw it under the 49er emblem. I'm speechless. Well, not really, I have a whole lot to say but my mama taught me if I don't have anything nice to say to not say anything at all.*SIGH*

IT WAS NOT THERE CHOICE TO BE BORN INTO A LIFE LIKE THAT MAYBE THEY ARE IN A BETTER PLACE NOW!!! I JUST WISH SOME PEOPLE (THE MOTHERS) ARE PUNISHED FOR NOT WATCHING THERE KIDS AND KEEPING THEM SAFE.......

Latisha and Shetara,
My heart broke for you and your family as I watched the news Thursday night. When I thought of the heartache and pain you were all going through. You have been in my prayers ever since. Shetara, you used to come to Fellowship Baptist Church while I was there. Our Lord will give you the strength and wisdom for the days ahead. There is nothing as painful as losing children, and am praying for the judgemental ones to have some compassion and sympathy.

Compassion? For the children, yes, tons of it. For the mothers, none, never.

This is tragic!! Obviously this is something that could have been prevented. Why is it that people have no regard to the dangerous situations they place their children or others in? I hope the mothers realize now that leaving any child (especially 4 and under) alone around candles of that matter was not worth their conversation in the parking lot. Too bad for these children and those that tried to save them.

"The mothers told officials that they were talking in the four-apartment building's parking lot when the fire erupted Wednesday at 9 p.m., "

What the hell would have caused these stupid ass women to be in the parking lot at 9:00 PM "talking" anyway??? They couldn't have had a conversation inside the apartment where the children were?

Negligent use of candles have started many a fire. It is not safe to use candles around young children anyway...they could pull them down in an instant when you are not looking...

And, doesn't PGE have a program for families w/children???

mothers can't expect respect to a situation like this, one no matter what you walk out that door and leave kids this young alone something is bound to happend, How about the fact that some one could have kidnappet a child through a windows. every one in this new generation has the though of "NOTHING WILL HAPPEND" well there you go folks neglect is all I see, and to blame the fathers for not having electricity, that is foul, you have custody do right for your own!!! WHERE IS CPS!!!!
