There needs to be a city ordinance that specifies that for every church building approved, three bars or restaurants be approved. It's a tax revenue thing. Being tax-exempt, churches and other religious buildings tend to hurt city and county revenue.

Put down your cardboard sign and go read the newspaper article before you spout off.

You seem to be confused about the difference between real tax revenue and a " potential" for local businesses to see increased sales.

There is a good joke about the difference between potential and reality, but I don't have time to 'splain it to you right now.

Ha ha! ; -)

Sounds like an electrical term.

Is that like a variable constant or a constant variable?

This should make a good juxtaposition for the evil people at nearby State Compensation Insurance Fund.

Iím Adam Lambert, and I approve this message.

With a church of 6000 attendees, that potential turns into reality very quickly. They hold conferences year round that draw a lot of out-of-towners who stay in our hotels, eat at our restaurants, and shop in our stores. A larger building that can actually function as an event center and hold over 2000 at once means that the number of church goers who don't live here but spend money here will only increase.

Besides that, they are now running what used to be city funded projects. Mariposa Center Boys & Girls club, Merriment on Main cleanup, Trower Center Boys & Girls Club and maintenance of the entire Trower Park area. Police calls in Trower Park are significantly lower now that The Father's House stepped in and provided much needed support. Their effect has been largely beneficial to the city which is why the planning commission has approved the conditional plans at each meeting.
