This could get scary given the. Complete ineptitude that caltrans has shown lately. I wouldn't be a bit surprised if after all is complete someone goes through a metering light and somehow ends up on the wrong side of the freeway.

True. Studies have shown that these signals do nothing to relieve overall traffic congestion.

Waste of money, what they need is a way to eject the slow azz drivers out of the fast lanes and make toyota Prius illegal to drive on the highway.

What's needed are metering lights at each and every freeway on-ramp which would include DUI/Parole Violator/Seatbelt violation check points.

We would be much safer then!

Studies have shown that these signals help control the traffic entering the freeway and contribute to safer roads by 71% compared to stretches of interstate freeway in urban areas without metered on-ramps. They make complete sense.

In addition special vehicles will have priority in entering the freeway over high fuel, high polluting vehicles thus creating another incentive to ditch the gas guzzlers for more economically designed vehicles that most Americans want as future vehicles for themselves.

Lets see your data.

It would be my guess that you haven't driven 80 into SF in a long, long time. Even if you could produce data supporting your claim, I'm sure it would be provided by the same bureaucrats having these retarded things installed.

Your guess? Show me your data.

This is a typical "it can't be so!" response by someone with an agenda.

The research is readily available on the internet. I'm sure BLB will gladly provide all of his research for you though. Get busy. In just a few clicks you will have all the information that shows metering is a valuable traffic management tool.

Personal attacks don't help your agenda. So sad.

You're a putz, I don't need to click on anything, you're the one quoting fictional data, you have no proof, the only thing your good at is running your lying pie hole.

Again, what's my agenda?

Lazy too I see. The meters are coming, resistance is futile. Embrace it or get out of the way. The metered ramps are for your own good.

Seems there is a specific idiot on this thread that thinks that they are actually ADDING lanes for their "green" vehicles. Sorry, but they are only adding lights, not lanes for your tiny, little wind-up cars. You will have to wait...just like the rest of us.

What planet do you live on? The diamond lane entrance queues are all over the county just ready to be activated. Yes, green vehicles with special stickers from the DMV will have priority access over the high pollution, low mileage vehicles lower information drivers like you have. You should be sorry, sorry you're not smart enough to figure out that what your eyes actually see is true. More lanes, diamond lanes specifically.

Wrong as usual, Jer.

Ther are a select few ramps where diamond lanes were added but the vast majority of ramps are simply getting lights installed on the single lane on ramp. You will have to wait in line with everybody else, breathing their stinking exhaust.

You should have stopped at "control traffic ENTERING the freeway", because after that your post turned into pure BS.

Most Americans DO NOT want POS vehicles like your little J.O. State Farm mobile, if they did then. The. Government would not have to subsidize their purchase with tax credits and incentives.
