My wife's family is from iceland and her mother is kind of "tuned" in to things, needless to say i think the trait has kind of been passed down as my wife definately has a sixth sense.Needless to say , several years back we stayed at chalk bluff near uvalde in one of the cabins , the one close to " the big oak". During the the night my wife was startled and awoke me saying there were orbs floating around in the room, some directly above her. Scared the hell out of her as she swore she knew what she saw and couldn't quite believe it.We have never encountered paranormal activity before aside from some pictures we took in plantation outside new orleans. When we asked the staff the next day ,a house keeper had said other people have reported events, and they spoke of indians having been killed on the grounds in the past. Anyhow thought i,d share.

Chalk Bluff was the site of several deaths in the 1880s, both American and Native American. When the first settlers came into the area after Uvalde was established, the Native Americans saw them as invaders on their territory and defended their land. Several settlers were killed in a brief encounter, one of them being a noted Indian fighter. No mention is made of how many Native Americans were also killed in what is euphemistically known as "the Battle of Chalk Bluff."

I can assume the orbs and other activity are possibly those of the settlers and Native Americans still trying to resolve their differences. Since the river is so close, manifestations are bound to occur more easily there than at other locations.

When I was young we would camp at chaulk bluffs. I would hear some one yelling help us on the other side of the river along the bluff. Thinking it was my brother cause we were looking for him, me and my little brother tried crossing the river but it was deep. So we ran back to camp to tell my parents. When we got back to camp my brother was there, This was maybe thirty years ago. I remember being at river feeling something was not right. Now I know settlers were killed at the site, but back then I didn't know, I was about maybe ten.

My family and I rent a cabin every summer and everytime we go we either hear knocking on the doors or seeing a shadow pass by. I heard spirits can drain out batteries for a source of energy. If so I remember this past summer I was trying to go to sleep but I didn't feel quite right so I looked at my phone and the battery drained in front of my eyes from a full charge and shut down completly

Uvalde started up as a place for negative energy. With one of the few sources of water between SA and the border (Leona & Nueces), thieves and outlaws hung out in the Uvalde area waiting to rob people as they passed by.

I stayed the night one time over in chalk bluff me my cousin and a friend. So we decieded that we would take a little boat ride rite there where everybody swims. But this was at like 12 in da morning real dark! We were talking while we were on da boat and on da other side of da river we heard branches and leaves crackn. So we stop and then we proceeded as soon as we driftn again we hear da same but something was running threw da brush! I pickd up a rock threw it across to da other side of da river and something threw it back at us.

My friends told me that they spent the night in a tent next to the river and they stayed up with a flashlight and they saw a women walk across the outside of their tent and the same looking shadow started walking around their tent in circles until it stopped on the back side of the tent. they got one of the girls to go outside and see who it was. The girl said no one was there but the girls inside saw the shadow. When the girls were all in the tent they saw the shadow walk away.
