This incident serves as a prime example for all those kids who are bullies. You should not mess with people because you do not know the mess they will bring you.

The police should prest charges on the suspect that is wrong.Even if they were making fun of him they could of solved it in a better way were no one would have gotten hurt.I htink if they dont do anything to the kid he will think its okay and not learn "a lesson".That is what i think of the situation that happened earlier today at pace high school.

I feel that both sound get punish, first for all it have to be a cause and then an effect. the kid that got hurt were bulling the kid that were defending his self. If you going to punish the one who hurt the kid that were bulling him, you should also punish the one who were bulling the kid.
I tell my son whatever those kids say to him that hurt him, lot at them see they is insecure of there self and they don't like themselve so they have to pick on you.
I have to tell them that because when he tell the teacher, then the tachers saying he is telling to much on the kids.
how could you expect the kids to go to an adult in the school for help.
They need to put prayer back in the school. because these kids really need God. These adult is not thinking of the safety of these kids.

What does the fact of the victim being a basketball player with the "state championship-winning team" have to do with this story.
What is the suspect? is he maybe the math champion or other nerdy but extremely important aspect to society.
How long have they been picking on this kid that he felt he needed to defend himself.
The cowards at Pace will probably toss out the suspect for this incident while the instigator continues to deteriorate what once (a long time ago)was a fine LEARNING institution and not a farm team for college basketball programs.
I too played basketball and baseball in high school. Our baseball team won a state championship. The most important aspect of our school at the time was still the education.

Another example of a kid that got fed up with being picked on all the time. Don't these bullies realize they are the ones that create these horrible monsters. We have seen it happen too much in our schools lately. You are in school to learn not to find out why the kid that sits next to you in class is so quiet or does not like to associate with scum like yourself. I tell my son all the time that he is in school to learn not to make friends if you happen to make a good friend along the way - great but when you leave school those friends leave too and friends are not the ones that help you find that great job or get into the college of your dreams. It had to be a jock!

This is similar to what instigated columbine, bullies terrorizing a few who got what they deserved.

Such as sad story and emotional one. Another example showing the bulling problems in schoools today. We as parents and teachers need to teach our children tolerance of others we need to go back to the teachings of "do on to others as you would want them to do on to you" and stop the bullies. Bullies should be punished just as hard as the boys who did the assault.... I have seen first hand how broward public shcool are very proactive on bullies and bulling and have a no tollerance rule for this behavior. If your child reports bulling right away the schools in broward are very good at taking strong action against the bully and uses all remidies to help the situation. I hope other school get proactive and remember they can only do this by the students reproting the problem immediately..

I am a PHS graduate and also worked there for about 5 years while I was in college. Let it be known that Pace is an outstanding school full of bright students and excellent teachers. The administration is focused on academics and they can not participate in sports if they have bad grades. This was a very unfortunate situation. Kids are being bullied in ALL schools across the country and no one is paying enough attention. We need to pray for these students and find out what is lying beneath these quiet and introverted kids. I am sure that in their own way they are reaching out for help, but no one takes them seriously. As an adult I worry about the crazy world we're living in, just imagine what it's doing to our youth.

I think it could have been worst, thank god it wasn't. We need a law that makes bullying in school ILLEGAL and students who are caught doing this will suffer not only charges, but suspension and/or expelled. We cannot keep taking actions after these incidents have occured. Enough is enough!

I feel that school administrations all over the U.S. need to do something to stop the bullying in our schools.
If these "bullies" are the athletes of the school, maybe they should have to sit out a few games. Yeah, they'll be mad, but, who cares? They should be mad at themselves. If after sitting out a few games they want to continue bullying, then maybe they should get kicked off the team. If they or their parents don't like it, who cares? If the bullying continues, then they should be arrested. I think it's time that the communities stand up and say I don't care if you miss out on a scholarship or whatever, I'm not going to allow you to continue being a bully. And, I don't mean to just center on an athlete. Whoever the bully may be, there should be some type of punishment guidelines set.

We as a whole need to understand this can happen anywhere. Nobody wants another Columbine. It's about time that we as parents "pay attention" to what our children do. If they're being a bully, WE need to stop them. It's not cute. WE as parents need to remember WE are not better than our fellow neighbors, and if we show that type of attitude or behavior, our childen pick up on that. WE as parents need to get our heads out of the sand so to speak.

As far as that young man who did the stabbing, I feel he should get some type of punishment, but I think he should also get counseling.
