Does anyone know what caused him to leave the herkimer police department and come to UPD? I have heard a lot of rumors

He is a great guy to work with and a proactive Police Officer who takes pride in his job. You can always depend on him to be there for you.

How do you define "proactive"? Aggressive? He's a real ballbreaker

UPD probably pays more, has more opportunities and is a better dept to work for

proactive -(of a policy or person or action) controlling a situation by causing something to happen rather than waiting to respond to it after it happens

If your neighbors have an illegal cabaret and you can't fall back asleep at 3am, because of the noise and illegal activities going on next to your hourse, would you prefer a reactive Officer that doesn't go to address the issue and drives by because nobody called the police or a proctive Officer that stops his car and gets out to be a "ballbreaker" as you see it?

Call it what you want, but I would love more proactive officers or "ballbreakers" to handle the situation instead of someone that doesn't take action.

How would drug dealers go to jail if it weren't for proactive police officers.

Okaaay??? What is your point that there is a fine line between ballbreaker and dirty? None of the responses above say anything about dirty. Where did you pull that one out of? There is a fine line between the two, but where did you get dirty from. Not even Sauquoit said anything about dirty. Explain why you mentioned dirty.

You can guess whatever you like. I can guess that an Officer arrested you or wrote you a ticket and you dislike them for that.

You want them to be proactive towards drug dealers and scum bags but how would you feel if YOU were having a family barbecue on the 4th of july and your neighbor called the cops on you for smalltime fireworks and you ended up getting in trouble because some proactive prick utica cop broke your balls. That proactivness dosent go over well when your 5 yr old son watches you leave in handcuffs

Don't buy illegal fireworks kiddo. Set an example in front of your children. You don't go in handcuffs for no reason. Don't put your family and yourself in that situation.

From what I heard from Herkimer PD Officer Holt is a fine Police Officer who conducts himself professionally and with integtrity. No matter what you heard this site is not a place for axe grinding. Leave the personal vendettas out of this sight and debate the real issues we are facing now, like politics and dead beat elected officals.

Jim Holt came from Herkimer. By all accounts is in Herkimer Co. He's a great officer. Did he re-locate to Utica? Then, why the heck can't the ppl that live outside the city & passed the UPD tests have a chance? This is NOT fair! At least gives these ppl a CHANCE to be offered the job & relocate. Many would. Give them a chance.

Drive by some of your elected council members on the 4th. There's at least one who has had fireworks EVERY year for four years running now.....and a second member who shows up for them.

Were talking sparklers and fire crackers nothing dangerous. John Q. hit it on the money. I bet you wouldn't see Holt arriving at THE elected council members homes breaking their balls.

Maybe it was your mouth that led to something else which got you arrested at your family barbecue, because everyone knows you don't get arrested for sparklers.

Well, I've personally seen roman candles and at least one mortar-type launched from this council member's backyard.

Here we go another axe to grind. Personally I like this form but when disgruntled people with axes to grind start posting peoples names at random that's a little to far. The purpose of these forms is not to cut people up because they gave you a ticket or took your stash. It's to debate the political crisis that we face today. One individual Police Officer who does their job has no purpose of being mutilated on the form. If we continue to conduct ourselves in these manor you will be seeing other posters cut their kindergarten teachers up for taking their GI Joe away from them in class. People deep in each and everyone of us there is a line drawn. Lets not cross this line because our identity is anonymous and they can not in return accompany you with the same name slaying game. It's only far!
