Need Windows

Syracuse, NY

#1 Nov 6, 2008
I need some new storm windows on "this old house". My home heating bills keep going up and up.
I don't want to get burned by companies that do less than quality work and I've heard bad things about both NY Sash and the "Window King".
So can anyone help me out with a good company to do the work? I've seen a guy on TV that looks and sounds very competent but I can't remember his name.
Can I get a little help please?

I think the guy on TV you're taling about is named Jeff Peck. I'm not positive, but I think that's his name. And if he is the same guy I'm thinking of, he does good work. Also, you might want to try Chamberlin of Utica. They are on Varick Street and they sell all kinds of windows and storm doors. And they do the installations.

No. I need them installed. I'm not the "toolman". Anyways from what I hear I just wouldn't do business with either Dudrak or NY Sash. I'm looking for a good company that can provide me with great windows and install them properly and I don't trust Dudrak or NY Sash to do the job.

Jeff Peck is good - He did the entire childrens museum and did a great job. He seems like an upstanding businessman.

Window King- I wouldn't do business with that guy again!!!

You are an owner or related. They charged an old lady I know over 15 thousand dollars to replace the windows in her ranch, which is a small 3 bedroom. She did have 1 bay window and an entrance door ( which costs 1000.00 at lowes), but 17 k? RIPOFFS!!!!!!!!!! They should have wore a mask and had a GUN! This IS a true story so do not try to give me the crap about the wondow being deluxe......a double pane vinyl replacement is a double pane vinyl replavcement, PERIOD you thief.

I've heard good things about Dudrak from family members who have used them, but I've never used them myself. My family members were happy, though.

You can't even keep track of your own BS! You start at 15K and push it up to 17K in the same post.

Cripes! Don't post again! That little old lady can't afford anymore!

Stop spinning what I wrote........I said and i quote, "OVER 15 thousand" and then gave the exact amount of 17k later in my statement. So don't tell me that I am "bs". Can you read it again so that you comprehend it a little better. It is no bs, that is what she paid!!!!!!!!!! Stop trying to stop the bleeding. I have nothing to gain on this,. I was just pissed off that they would take advantge of someone like that, PERIOD!

STAY AWAY FROM NY SASH!
They are the most overpriced hacks in the business. I got an estimate from them to replace a shower for $3300. A contractor ended up doing it for $1150. THEY ARE A RIPOFF.

Jeff Peck Is very good. Put windows in my sister's house, did excellent work--not a draft from wind or cold. Chamberlin did mine and he did the worst installing of replacement windows. I feel the cold and drafts, don't even think these are the windows I ordered and he used double hung windows to install sliders. This happened 5-6 years ago, should have gone to Jeff.

For real. the best way to get great service is call a local supplier, like Erie or Sunrise, ask them for 3-5 refferals.

Trust me, they don't recommend bums
