does anyone remembr the totem poles that I think lined broad street in utica in the 50 s or early 60s. What was their history and who stole them .I could remember as a child seeing them . Maybe I am wrong.

They were on Broad Street where Mohawk tees into it.

They were made by some old Italian guy who worked for a cement company & made them out of leftover cement. They weren't just totem poles -- one was supposed to b Marilyn Monroe, & others representedother things/people. I think they were torn down. Probably oneida county historical society would have info. Or that guy who writes the "This week in history" thing for the OD.
