Does anyone know who the original architect was? I'm trying to do some research on the whole conundrum but I can't access the O-D further back than 2002, which falls a bit short of the school's construction.

I attended the school in mid 50's. the wood work was beautiful. My mother went there in 1929. About 15 years ago I got permission from the city to go in a photo shoot the entire building. I found a stairwell that was hidden that led to a floor above the second floor in the original section and found a single class room. what that was used for is beyond me,maybe a room for special secret meetings. As I walked around the "attic" I saw drawings dating back to early 1920's that were drawn on the heating ducks. It was truly a trip back in time. It should be sold for a $1.00 and let someone develop the property and get back on tax table. I now live in Detroit. The old Packard plant looked worse than the school. Someone bought in for less than $ 500,000.00. The land is worth 10 + times that. Come on Utica, get creative and roll the dice.

The city of utica let this school go because it was simply about money. Our former utica residents erected this school to stand forever no matter who wrecked these halls. To the Italians on the east side who wrecked utica. Good job idiots. To those same 'Italians' did you forsee that one sherri fabbio. An italian who lived two doors up loved that school? No. Because you were worried about budget cuts, and now cornhil isl overrun. As soon as Roosevelt school died and us students were sent to columbus.....you killed an en entire neighborhood. For money. Good job dummies
