ok so my husband and i have gone to every mayor's ball since roefaro started it. i do not follow the politics. we just support these charities. Anyway, whatever you want to say about roefaro, i'm going to say this: under him, the ball had more food, more drink and was attended better. people were all saying the same thing. It just was not as good this year. SO....what gives?

FANTASTIC...great food, great company, and the Palmieri's were gracious, as usual...seems as if the majority of people were having a great time..WE did, better time that any we attended with Roefaro...to each his own.

O God... Are we going to turn this into a popularity contest? Did you ever think that some people may still be on vacation? There was also an event at the Stanley tonite. Maybe people do not feel like giving their hard earned money to the children's museum. That place is an embarrassment to Utica. The humane society? Don't they have enough fund raisers all year long? Just sayin..that could be the reason for the turn out they had. And Sara... did you not eat all day so you could fill your face and get a little tipsy? Its probably the only night your husband takes you out!

i also went. and actually made in it in the WKTV video!!!! As you can tell from the footage, turnout was bad but still something to do. last year, you could not walk with the over 1500 people. this year, we didnt have to fight for food.

consider the time of year..after being shut in all winter, the mayor's ball is something to look forward to, thus larger attendance...Also, spring vacation took many people away.

It's no surprise. I still had fun but it was definitely nothing close to the huge events Roefaro put on. I went to three of Dave's and each was bigger than the previous one. Dave was a terrible mayor but he did know how to schmooze.

Rob's problem is that he's never been well liked. No offense but he just isn't very educated and has never been accepted in any social circles. Although he's always tried to put on the charade of being a Utica big shot, the real players knew better. He has a little cheerleading crew made up mostly of friends of his kids and a few people that don't know any better. But consider that even at his best he only got 40% of the vote. That means even if he came in and did an outstanding job, he would have a tough time getting reelected. Now that he's blowing it all by trying to play the old games, he is finished.

Roefaro was WAY worse but at least people took the fact that he had power seriously. Rob has almost become the butt of all jokes around certain social circles. Especially when he does his talking in his "deep voice" thing. That's what people that have no confidence and/or education do to try commanding respect. All it does is make him look foolish though. He's one and done. The sad part is that there could be some good, young talent on the council, but they're buying into this back slapping garbage and they don't even see how it's blowing their credibility.

different strokes for different folks....the ball was a huge success..I have only been to one of roefaros, it was mediocre...Palmieri's were gracious, no put-on..I believe had it been a winter ball, there would have been a larger crowd...close to 1200, not so bad...so people left early, what's the big deal?? We left to see "the Titanic", but not until we had our share fo a 'great time' how much could you eat and dance and mingle. The last two posters are most likely cerminaro and roefaro fans who naturally will have negative comments. Personally, I voted for Cardillo, but I think Palmieri has accomplished more in 4 months than roefaro did in 4 years...'roundabout' pfffffffft.

This best part of the ball was when I saw Bobby Sullivan in a gown with pumps and Linda Fatata walking Palimeri around in a lesh.....I was at the ball and the turn out was horrible.

Great gala affair..to all you JEALOUS, naysayers, YOU don't know how to have fun! Lots of food, great music, Palmieri's were wonderful host and hostess, I think I speak for the majority of the people in saying a wonderful time was had by the majority...It's what you make of it.

What I don't understand is why every woman in the pictures of the ball from the OD none are wearing fabulous jewelry from my shop!Everybody knows I sell nothing but the best...and why do they all look so droopy they all need a breast lift, nose job, tummy tuck, face lift, liposuction and labia plasty. As we all know their is no cure from the reek of my festering washed up vagina but with all the left over free booz I think it will make a really good douche...
