I'm sure it's fine. I signed up a few months ago in Albany and I've seen a couple dollars difference

please ask lots of questions, how long fix price is good for, etc.

Never never show then your National grid bill. They have been known to change your supplier once they have your account number.

They can't change your supplier without your signature, and anyway, if you don't choose it Con Eduson will choose one or another like it AND charge you for it. So your best bet would be to shop around, or see what rates they offer,

What's funny is it only takes for 1 person to shout "SCAM"(usually because they weren't listening to what the rep says) and 100 people believe it to be factual. It is believed there all out to just sell you something but everyday you are being sold in one way or another.

Like Carlos said, if you don't chose the utility company will and it will probably at a higher rate. SO if you feel you've been scammed by either a door to door person or someone on the phone it's because of 1 or 2 reasons. Either that person was new (yes it wasn't explained properly) or the customer was not listening to what they were being told.

We would rather shout at these people when they knock on our doors or scream at them through the phone while blaming them but we have no problem sitting in front of the TV being sold and lied to in the privacy of our homes.

It defenitly is a scam. The rep by my door represented himself as if he works for national grid and coned. He sad he needs to see my bills.as there is a tax on my bill that I'm not supposed to be charged. I asked him several times if they are a supply company he sad no we are 3rd party that works with coned and n.g. to fix the problem on your bill

These people always come out around the end of winter. People sign up and see a drop in their bill for a couple months because they use less heat since it's getting warmer. Then comes winter and they realize it's either a tiny savings or a small-huge increase. If you show them your bill they write down your account and phone number and months later you start getting these scam calls claiming you owe money to nat grid and the only way to pay is with a credit card.

What you need to do is research. Anything is screamed a scam if people don't like it. You have to know all the facts about what you are signing up for. Don't take anyone's word you don't know them. And btw the easiest way to get out of Cancelation fees is to call the company and threaten to complain to the public service commision. Suddenly a manager will be on the phone waiving your fee for customer service reasons. These are great programs but you need to know how to work them!

When a representative to a company you've NEVER heard of starts calling your house and offering to freeze your account with your electricity company when rates get high, you hang up. I don't care what "difference" they're offering. You stick to your own knowledge.

I apologize for your problem with one bad appple. What you experienced was a bad energy consultant they were not trained properly you should have addressed the issue properly next time they frame the utility ask for a copy of the ESCO BILL OF RIGHTS. IF THEY DO NOT PROVIDE ONE FOR YOU YOU CAN SIMPLY FIND THE ESCO CONSUMER BILL OF RIGHTS ONLINE. THE WACO COMPANY'S ARE LISCENCED BY THE NYS PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION( this does not mean they are regulated by the government all programs are optional) what that means is you have the right to ask questions and know what your being offered if they are framing the utility call their office ( the individual sales reps have their own offices with their managers) and explain to them the problem you had with that individual sale representative. That is what we call slamming and we all take this highly serious and they can be terminated immediatly. Bad buisness. Please don't let one bad Apple stop you from getting a clean Bill.

If the sales rep calls your house and doesn't represent their company they work for and who they are and their badge id then yes hang up. If they are asking for personal information like your social then I would highly recommend not to listen and hang up. But other than those two listed then give it a lists . and see if that program works for you. A majority of us only gets paid by commission which is alot harder than working a 9 to 5 and being paid hourly we are actually working. As doing are job no sales no pay so if we don't Do our job correctly then we will have nothing. For the customers confidentiality I prefer directly talking to them face to face.

So?

Only thing anyone can do with your utility account number is pay it we all have something called a tpv call a third party verficator that understands the vital information given and is to be faced to the utility only.

first and last name of the CONSUMER your address and your mailing address ( where you receive all your mail) if diffrent from your services address (where you receive your gas and electric to) your phone number your account number email is optional and your birthdate to verify if you are 18 years and younger than 75 years the account can only be signed up to these programs If you are the account holder or the spouse of the account holder strictly like that and have to be legally married. And last but not least the person who's signing up your validated signature.

The TPV representative is only there to verify that it is you and no one is doing this without the permission of the account holder or spouse..they are merely reading a scrioed of the program off of the data base to the consumer to make sure the representative did their job correctly. Have a wonderful time no program guarantees savings ever

The representative came to my door,I wasn't home so my wife open a door, after she sign the contract ,the representative starts asking my wife inappropriate questions, where is your husband, why you are not wearing the ring? She said that my husband is coming home in 1 hour,he replied -It's enough time to have fun ! Then she asked him to leave, and he doesn't let her to close the door trying to flirt with her! I was so pissed off when she told me that story,I call them right away and canceled the contract ,and filed an complain to this representative!
STAY AWAY! DO NOT OPEN A DOOR!
