Wait till you see this! Wonder why the Utica Observer Dispatch doesn't want the public to know how much money those salaries are!

http://www.youtube.com/watch...

$73,000 for a teacher who slammed her fist on the desk and demanded the building principal "that's not the way we do it!" Had to do with specials relieving the classroom teacher during exam time!

Do you understand what an UNFAIR advantage it is for those student's to have a break during those mandatory exams? They get to go to those special classes while the other teachers and students, are not so lucky to have a prep period/special class!

Wrong! Unfair advantage! How can one justify any test scores when student's get a break?

Imagine this 4th grade teacher, recently tenured then, pulled this ugly dirty stunt on a 37 year veteran principal in the Utica City School District!

WRONG!

She's back with music and video graphics this time. LOL Bring back smashing crock pots and profane language as ways to make your point honey, it was far more attention getting.

BTW - Get rid of those goggles that went out when you had your initial meltdown. I can't believe you haven't broke them in all these years during one of your schizophrenic episodes.

People should be reminded that the true salaries are the salaries plus the generous fringe benefits that nearly double the compensation.

This means you Teachers at NYM. Stop asking for more or our school will be shut down. Then you get a job teaching the ones who carry the guns. You are more than compensated for what you do so stop bitching.

i'm assuming you probably mean teaching in Utica schools-in case you live in a hole, which i think you do. kids in any school have and can bring a gun to school ex. holland patent, whitesboro, and Adirondanck all had incidences. Don't believe they hype about utica schools-get your facts straight before you open your mouth

If you think we want "Mills" kids dragging down educational standards in Hew Hartford you've got another guess coming. Please, go merge with Whitesboro! New York Mills is already enough of a drag on the Town's budget.

Just a suggestion, but take a look at the site

http://www.seethroughny.net/Payrolls/StatePay ...

My daughter's gym teacher is making over $73,000.00. Check out your school district and the districts around you. These salaries are on top of the bennies.

Wow, I should have choosen a different profession.

Not a teacher, but I am wondering. If everyone hates teachers salaries, what should they be paid? Should they receive benefits? I mean who makes the rules of who deserves what pay? Do lawyers deserve to make as much money as they do? What about plumbers/contruction guys? My plumber brings in almost $80,000 a year. He works for the city and has his own business. He doesn't work a full week. Who should we have make the desiciions?

Who should make the decisions over who much money a person can make? Everyone has an opinion about other people's pay, but who has the right to make those decisions. I'm not a teacher, but I know numerous people that will openly state that thier kids spend more time at school then at home. Should lawyers make as much money as they do? Should pay be based on education or on work effort of the amount of time on a job? I know people that work 8 hours a day, but don't accomplish a thing. I know people that only work part time but due to their education they make almost $75000 a year. Does anyone deserve any benefits anymore? Everyone complains but I don't see any real solutions.

So you conveniently know how much your plumber makes? Yeah OK, I'll just let that go! When you speak of lawyers and construction people I assume we're talking about self employed business owners. Their pay is based on the amount of work they do and how much they can charge and still remain busy. If they charge too much, the marketplace adjusts the amount of work they receive. There is a LIMIT! BTW, lets not forget these business owners pay for their own benefits.

Teachers have made gains in salary over the last 10-15 years in addition to health insurance which is second to none. They definitely deserve a good wage but when does it end or just maybe slow down? Isn't it enough when their salaries are starting to affect the ability of taxpayers who are ultimately responsible for these increases year after year after year? Our government made a priority years ago to pump money into education with grants and funding to bring the level of education up for America's children but they've reached the limit. The "free" money is long gone yet teachers feel the taxpayer should just continue to pony up where government left off. It's over, everyone has taken a hit and teachers should take one as well.

FYI It seems all this money we pumped into the education system didn't pay off anyways because America's children have dropped to 17th out of 20 industrialized countries in education. Yep, the teachers did a great job in return for us taxpayers doubling your salaries ... NOT!!!!!

It is not the teachers--it is the students that do not do their work.

Wow that comment about NYM just reinforces what everyone believes about new hartford ignorance. Yup.....

Sure sounds like people are bitter about making the wrong career choice when they bash the people who take care of your children everyday.

Did you know that many of those industrialized nations don't have public education? Meaning they don't educate everybody like America does! Get the facts! They educate only the kids that prove they can go on to higher education. We've had visitors from Japan, at Proctor, and they couldn't believe America TRIES to educate everyone. teachers have every right to make as much money as they can. The fringe bennies you talk about are duties for being club advisers, coaches, or taking on extra classes. By the way, I haven't seen many doctors doing cafeteria, hall or lunch duty, lately. Have you?

Geez, I missed the public defenders asking people for passes at the courthouse! Don't doctors get consultant fees? Why don't you bitch about what they charge for medical services? Have you ridden an ambulance lately? Giving prescription drugs is like taking an extra class. Hey, I see the correlation, don't you? Coaching and teaching 150 kids at the high school level is pretty easy stuff, any moron can do it! You people make me sick. Don't judge until you walked in my shoes! Many minorities feel they're owed something, like a passing grade for doing nothing. Just what our society has created. They don't need to work, the government will give them money for doing nothing except having babies. Most spend it on drugs. I've filled out my share of SSI questionaires about families asking for benefits for their kids. While they think just showing up at school and doing nothing warrants free money.

To be honest with you, I'm surprised the graduation rate is that high! You actually have to come to school, do your work and study to get an education. Instead many of the Utica kids are out running the streets late at night, sexting with the phones we as taxpayers provide for free each month, playing video games, smoking weed, and getting pregnant at 13 or 14 years old in order to produce the next wave of uneducated unemployable welfare recipients. Yeah it's the teachers' fault who get stuck dealing with these lovely motivated students every day. It's enjoyable to be told point blank, "I'm not doing my work and you can't make me". It's also fun getting cussed out by both children and parents. Also fun trying to contact parents who won't return your calls and when they do to receive nothing but excuses and reasons why their kid can't stay after school for help. Or getting angry at the school when their kid gets caught with a weapon or drugs and the kid gets suspended. I've had parents tell me, You better figure out what to do with them 'cause I don't want him or her home all day. We don't get paid enough to have students physically put their hands on us, push us, get in our faces and curse at us. Spend a week my friend and you'd sing a different tune! At least we're going to work every day, pay taxes, and feed the local economy. And please don't try to look intelligent by making comments about my grammar and typos. I don't write well when I'm pissed off. What do you do for a living and how much do you make? If you have the right to know and critique my salary, maybe you should publish yours for all to see so we can evaluate your worth! Please share as I'm oh so interested!
