Has anyone here grasped the price of the shrine circus tickets this yr?$14--adults,$$7---children. Figure in: popcorn, cotton candy, soda & a souvenir. You gotta go there with AT THE VERY LEAST a $100 bill for a family of 4!!!!!!!

I know it's for a good cause, but we won't be going this yr.

And Picente has the nerve to ask for a tax increase in this repressed area!!

I read this a few years (8yrs?) ago, but of all the charitable causes the Shriner's, are actually one of the organizations that get the biggest bang for their buck. Something in the neighborhood of 85% goes to the cause and the remainder for administration costs and wages. At that time United Way was far behind.

Come on now, this isn't the 1980's. That's not much more than going to a movie. If you can't afford these prices, learn to say no to your kids and skip the souvenirs and bring some candy and soda from home, and let your kids enjoy the circus. Don't be such a cheapskate.

This is the worst circus ever. My 5 year old daughter kept begging me to leave because she said it was boring. She has been to a Barnum and Bailey 3 ring circus and I guess the Shriners circus is like everything else in Utica.....subpar!

If you're out of work, don't go to the circus.

Give me a break. Barnum and Bailey costs a lot more to go see... for a reason. And they are not trying to raise money for charity! It is great for what it is and for a great cause.

Wow, are you actually complaining about the $ for a 2 hour show? Circus prices haven't gone up for nearly 5 years. Barnums tickets start at $35.00, with $10.00 for cotton candy.
No elephants last year because of the new NYS law that prohibits elephant rides...so they can barely afford to travel. It costs thousands per week to feed, house & transport elephants. Complain about the law not the circus.
Shrine dates bring in the very BEST available performers, including such acts as the Flying Redpaths, Tino Wallenda and the Flying Wallendas, and so many more you can't even count, but like every other Utican complain and make comments about something you know nothing about!

There are a couple elephants strolling around city hall and many wandering through the police department.

For appalled and others, you should go see Piccadilly Circus or some others where the adult is
$ 30 and child $ 15. Elephant rides, concessions and you easily blow $ 200,. This is a bargain.

And elephants, those looney animal rights activists are killing elephant acts. Don't blame the circus producer.
