So disgusted with NYS. Our property taxes and school taxes are out of control.
I will be leaving this state soon...just keeps sucking the money I work hard for all this uncalled and nonsense spending. Still can't believe Matt Brewery does not make enough profit to replace their own tanks!! I personally will not purchase another Matt Brewery product again.

It sounds to me like you all enjoy this area being depressed economically because it gives you something to bitch about.
The new Quad-C Project is going to happen, 1500 jobs with an average of $90,000 per year. I am sure all of you don't have the skills to get a job like this as you sit in your mother's basement and write on topix but damn, really?
You honestly believe that 1500 jobs paying $90K/year are actually going to be coming just because Pope Andrew decrees it? We all want to see job development in this area but given the track record of our local elected leaders, having it become a reality is very suspect. Griffo, Brindisi, Pissente, Palmieri...they're all just Cuomo's lemmings being led over the cliff. Come back on here in 5 years and let me know how many of those 1500 jobs are here. What are chump you are.

I see a lot of people working together on projects in the public and private sector. That is why we did so well. That's the real story. For many years old grudges between politicians held us back. No more. It's refreshing to see.

The fact that this area is getting the third hightest amount in the state is excellent news. Its smart to put the money towards sunyit, quad c, and the harbor point etc,
You are a FOOL to believe the pie in the sky gibberish handed out by the governor. It is pork barrell under a different name. How many times does it have to happen before you see? The emperor has no clothes.

The people of that area seem to never understand. They truly believe the 80 million dollars was just fabricated somehow and it's like they won the lottery.

I have a BA, MS, and graduated in top of class. I am educated to see through all the hoopla being thrown around here. Talk, talk talk, nothing gets done around here but raising taxes all the time. Time to get out of this area, someone else can pay my share of the taxes.
I am not sitting in a basement. I am in my house and I pay over $6,000 in local taxes annually. I have not ever been unemployed, work can be found if you all get out and work for a living. WORKED for what I have and have never had a hand out. Please, get real people!
I have a BA and MS. Who gives a fucl you miserable hater.

In your crystal ball, did you see any of this money for real needs? I mean, like the infrastructure of Utica streets? New sewer system? Tax relief? Utica school district? Housing stock?
Or, is all of this "new-found money" going only to businesses whose owners have contributed to our governor's political campaigns?

I lived in Utica for 43 years and was a highly compensated and skilled professional. My property taxes hit $10,000 and I said "Enough". Be a realist here folks, the area is and has been in a great state of decline for 3 decades. You have not seen anything yet. What is coming to Utica in the future will be pitifull. It will make the Great Depression look like Prosperity! There will be no recovery there in your or my lifetime. If you want a prosperous future start packing. Really hated to leave but you have to stay ahead of the trends. BTW, Nano Tech will not save the area. Just Hogwash. Nobody can go from working at Utica Corp. to being a skilled laboratory tech that works with particles only visible by an electrom microscope.

Yea our tax dollars given to the Matts. One would think they would be ashamed to take it. Anyone ever check the Gilroy/Matt relationship?

Please. They're too stupid to ask and if they did the state agencies would tell them no.

that's how these people roll. Just like the hospital and every other project.
