Of the $82 million the tax payers will see maybe if they are lucky 10%. The rest of the money will be pissed away and pocketed by the corrupt county and city officials.

$250,000 to brewery for new tanks...let them buy their own tanks!
So disgusted with NYS. Our property taxes and school taxes are out of control.
I will be leaving this state soon...just keeps sucking the money I work hard for all this uncalled and nonsense spending. Still can't believe Matt Brewery does not make enough profit to replace their own tanks!! I personally will not purchase another Matt Brewery product again.

Agreed! But as you know that's the whole system today.they take your money and instead of spending socially for the people they take care of the corporate insiders interest and their own pockets instead.NYS is somewhere around 60billion in the hole ,after yesterday it's now 61 . did any of those gleeful so called journalist on WKTV bother to ask just where is this money coming from?

Corporate welfare is all that it is. I can see money used for canal corp and job retraining , but the brewery? Come on . They can buy the tanks, take the accelerated depreciation and it ends up costing them 60 cents on the $.

It is funny and frustrating to watch. People celebrating money like this but they fail to realize its just their own money being filtered back in.

Does this expenditure of our tax dollars on brewery tanks qualify all of us taxpayers to a discount on our Saranac beer purchases. Oh, and are these tanks used for beer sold as NYS beer or for the beer they make for out of state breweries...as they have stated they do. Come on Matt Brewery, you can afford to replace your own tanks...you know you have the money! The politicians need to stop the spending on the backs of the working people in NYS. I will not buy anymore Matt brewery products either.

You hafta laugh when WKTV & the OD have something like this to report as if local unemployment is gonna drop 4 points. How long has the Harbor Project been talked about? Isn't it also funny Andrew the Pious is throwing money all around like a drunken sailor with 2014 being an election year for him???

So all of you would rather see some other part of the state get these funds? The state was going to disburse the funds either way to some project somewhere.

It sounds to me like you all enjoy this area being depressed economically because it gives you something to bitch about.

The new Quad-C Project is going to happen, 1500 jobs with an average of $90,000 per year. I am sure all of you don't have the skills to get a job like this as you sit in your mother's basement and write on topix but damn, really?

I have a BA, MS, and graduated in top of class. I am educated to see through all the hoopla being thrown around here. Talk, talk talk, nothing gets done around here but raising taxes all the time. Time to get out of this area, someone else can pay my share of the taxes.
I am not sitting in a basement. I am in my house and I pay over $6,000 in local taxes annually. I have not ever been unemployed, work can be found if you all get out and work for a living. WORKED for what I have and have never had a hand out. Please, get real people!

Spending tax money for "economic development" is a misguided approach. Why not do away with the stimulus and give the $82 million back to the tax payers and businesses in the form of tax breaks. Lower taxes is what creates jobs, not government grants.

No. I want the money to go back to those it was taken from so that they can decide how to spend, donate and invest it.
I want taxes to go down. I want New York State Authorities abolished. I want the tolls taken off the NYS Thruway. I want organized labor's strangle hold on New York broken. Especially in the public sector. I want less regulation on business. Do those things and the taxpayers of New York won't have to bribe businesses to come here. They'll come because they can can make a profit. They can't do that with the system we have now.

I'm not sure where you get your information but there is no way that Quad C is going to produce 1500 jobs at an average salary of $90,000. You are just wrong on that. Do a little research before posting nonsense like that. It blows your credibility out of the water. When you say something like that you have to be able to prove it.

You do also understand that the owner of record for Quad C is the people of the state of New York. The taxpayers paid for that. Businesses are coming here, renting space at Quad C and operating tax free for ten years(Governor Cuomo's Tax Free New York plan). How long do you think they will stay? I'm goin to out out on a limb here and say 9 years, 364 days.

People make me laugh, find the downside to the local are receiving 83+ million dollars. People either A complain about getting it B complain about not getting more or C would complain about not getting it at all. Be happy we got it.'

The fact that this area is getting the third hightest amount in the state is excellent news. Its smart to put the money towards sunyit, quad c, and the harbor point etc,

It will bring so much to the Utica area...NOT!!
The tanks probably brew the beer that is labeled with another the brewer's brand and shipped out of state!
The politicians need to get their heads out of the ...BEER TANKS!
That if they can find it! I am just going laugh at every politician when I see then in public and shake my head in disgust for their irresponsible behavior and decisions. They really are a joke!
They all need to be voted out!

I'd be happy if that tax money was never collected.

You make it sound like it's a gift. It's taxpayer money.

Why is it smart to put the money there?
Was the tax money that went for the Stanley smart? How about Hotel Utica?
