Well, the football program is a disaster, thanks to Nole and the AD playing politics, now the girls basketball program is ruined too. AD, forced Callan out, several girls quit and nobody went out for either jv or varsity teams. I believe about 8 or 9 went out for each team, same with modified team. They hired a new coach, Prue, only after several turned down the position. The AD ruined this once great program. What a shame it has come to this. The team is 0-3 and loosing by 25+ a game. Wboro was kind to them last night and could of won by 40+. I don't think they will win a game. The best players quit.

The problem is that the teams below varsity and varsity for that matter always have played the same 5 or 6 players over the years. Development is not part of NH vocabulary. Even when The JV girls were up by 25 points they would not sub. Same with Varsity. This attitude was the same in practice. Cater to the seniors and/or the starters, dont work with the younger girls on fundamentals and build the program, no, just worry about the year in which they were playing and that starting 5. Now they are paying for that philosophy- in talent and in numbers. Why put in such an investment of time as a player when the return is negligible. Fun is not even part of the equation. Better to invest time in your academics and work part-time, do something that is productive towards your future and learning life skills. It use to be sports in NH were productive and did teach you traits for the future not any more. Study and work, study and work- thats the name of the game!!!!

Don't worry. I'll be taking over for Prue very soon - should've happened when Callan quit. This town doesn't know anything about sports, never did. All of this is the fault of Jones, Callan, and the rest of the no nothing nh coaches. It's about time people who know what they are doing and know how to treat people move in and take over.

Everybody is a crybaby and their kid can't play at NH unless you are an administrator, school board member, booster club or teachers kid than its called politics when the high and mighty kids don't play. ex.girls program is not better off now and why didn't the jv coach even get an interview for the job?

You're right Pete. The NH girls basketball team has played the same 5-6 for the last 30 years. They're close to fifty now - and, although they've won close to 80% of their games in the last 30 years, inevitably, they've slowed down some and it's really showing this year with the arthritis and all. It's that fargin' Mike Callan's fault. He had no vision to develop a program that would dominate beyond 30 years. That bum. Please get rid of Prue now and put in a crony that will understand how to teach fundamentals at all levels so this never happens again.

That's right again Pete! Prue was a star at NH, played D1 ball in college, has 35 years experience coaching kids at NH, has 35 years as a teacher at NH, and is respected by the kids, parents, and the NH community where he was born and raised. Who the heck is he?- just another no nothing NH coach and nice guy who doesn't suck up I guess. The JV coach was the crony and the man for the job and you know who should have stayed on as the assistant. None of this would be happening if everyone would just listen to you for a change. Stay at it!

He was the first to be offered and Mike said no way. He didn't want anything to do with the nasty politics going on in NH these days. I heard this from the horses mouth.

He never got a interview because he sided with Callan when Alvanos was upset that his younger daughter was not playing as much as the other two sophmores

Nope - you must be qualified to have a job at MVCC and it's too far to drive drunk.

I heard some father volunteered to be an Asst. Coach, but was turned down when he insisted that he be in the players' lockerroom and showers at all times.

Look, Superintendent Nole is as qualified as they come and he has the upmost faith in Pete Alvanos. The Board of Education also supports him because he is a fair and honest man who is OVERLY qualified for the job. If this wasn't the case then something would have been done about it. So stop all this unwarranted AD bashing and put the blame where it really lies - on Mike Callan and Bob Jones. After careers that totaled over 70 years, after they dedicated their lives to serving the parents and children of our community, after gaining the respect of being sportsmen by every HS coach and college in NY, after career winning percentages, it was evident that they knew nothing and had to be bullied out. Only Pete Alvanos and Bob Nole had the foresight to recognize that so get off their backs! The fallout in student turnout, player morale, student morale, parent dissatisfaction, and a lack of NH CSD integrity is completely Callan's and Jone's fault. SO CUT IT OUT!!!
