The Utica Memorial Auditorium is paid for by the taxpayers of Oneida County. It is a public building and should be insured and available for public functions. This wasn't any kind of brilliant contract at all if it doesn't incorporate the continuation of public use. Now I know the hockey crowd feels like the kings of the Uticaverse with all that money the taxpayers subsidize their hockey entertainment per ticket but they better get with the program on this or this time next year they won't be kings of their own bankruptcy filings.
If they're smart, and they're not, they had better figure out a way to underwrite the fucking graduation and STFU or they had better start packing up their shit. BANK on that sportos.
Whitesboro High School has asked to use the Aud and it has been refused by the Comets Association and Rob Esche which is kind of funny since they don't own the building nor do the gofdfass politicians that gave away the laughable contracts to begin with. Some heads are gonna roll. There was no problem with using the Aud before these arrogant Aholes showed up. They took a Million from the County and 1.5 Million from the state to subsidize that sill bullshit which includes the fcking insurance ladies. Get with it or get gone from the public property.

Arrogance is the highest form of stupidity. The Aud Commission, "hockey people", Griffo-Brindisi alliance, Picente led county government and local Chamber of No Commerce will never realize just how big a mistake they have made here.
For the sake of the cost of the rider on the insurance policy they have decided to alienate yet another large faction of taxpayers whose money has made possible their very existence.
There is no way to calculate just how stupid (ARROGANT) these people are.

Whomever ran the Aud and did not require users to provide additional insured status on its policies was wrong. If Utica built a chip plant that produced racist idiots, some of you may have a chance to have gainful employment. I know successful people drive you nuts but you should be thankful for them because they help fund your government handouts. Without successful people to do that, you might have to get a job as opposed to posting ignorant and hateful things on Topix.

Oh fck off. Did they hit a nerve? Either the impediment is the Comets or not? If they didn't consider the public use that's their problem. When you can follow along the basic facts then maybe you can opine about who knows what they're talking about. Clearly these people can't manage anything what made anyone expect they'd duuuh be refusing people for events held in the building THEY paid for?

You must be more clear: exactly WHO are the successful people you allude to?
Is it the hockey wizards (who received the taxpayer grants from NYS)?
Is it the elected officials (who decided to give away taxpayer money for private profit)?
Does success defined by you include: those who scam taxpayer money for their own use?
What you have proven is that do know how to post "ignorant and hateful things on Topix"

Again, it's common practice in these situations for a building to have insurance, additional insured status and hold harmless agreement provisions in their contracts with people who hold events in their buildings. The people running the Aud would be remiss in their obligations to the public if they failed to require these prudent provisions for the protection of the building. The Aud didn't refuse to make the building available to Whitesboro High School -- read Superintendent Langone's letter of April 29 to the Class of 2014 and Parents. The school district, for it's own reasons, felt it couldn't agree to the terms offered. That's their decision. MVCC, Proctor and Utica College are holding their graduation exercises at the Aud again this year as they have for many past years. They apparently didn't have a problem with the contract terms.

You as well have no idea what you are talking about. It is COMMON PRACTICE to have renters hold their own insurance for events to cover "LIABILITIES" resulting from their events that are not and cannot be covered by the venues insurance policy. This is not a requirement that is decided by the AUD or its staff. They DO have insurance and it is that insurance provider that REQUIRES that they have renters of the facility hold a certificate with additional coverage of the AUD during those outside events. This is so that the AUD is "additionally" covered in any lawsuit resulting from the use of their space by any outside group on that groups insurance policy. These two insurance policies do not overlap. The AUD's insurance will only cover AUD hosted events.

Again this is STANDARD practice. So get your facts straight because clearly you have no flipping idea what your talking about.

Who or what TAX dollars that went when and where, has absolutely NOTHING to do with insurance. Speaking does not justify ignorance.

There was no reason for this to become the problem it has grown into. You have no unique
insight into insurance coverage; nor, it seems, into public relations.
The arrogance of the Aud people would not allow them to reach an agreement with the school system without this becoming the debacle it has.

C'mon it's easy. Pay the money for wboro central school district to be added on as an additional insured or you can't use the aud. Where's the arrogance?
Just because some of your parents go to comets games and drink w esche doesn't give you carte Blanche at the aud. Get a clue big blue wrecking crew

Since you don't know me, and don't know my background, you have absolutely no basis for your assertion that I have no insight into insurance or public relations, but if you think good public relations demands that the building put itself, and the public, at an unnecessary risk of liability just to accommodate a high school graduation exercise, I think you're not a public relations genius either. And while facts don't seem to bother you much, here's another one for you: Whitesboro has held its graduation exercises in its gym in the past. They can hold them there again this year if they choose to do so. No big deal. The kids will still get their diplomas, their relatives will all be there to cheer, and the sun will come up the next day just as it has been doing for billions of years.

It is my understanding that the contract did not change this year. I was told that in past years Whitesboro struck out the section of the contract pertaining to insurance but this year they were told they could not remove that clause. I donít know why Whitesboro would have a problem with this because their insurance should cover this without costing the district any additional money. Iím guessing SUNY-IT, Stanley Theater or any other venue would have the same insurance requirements.

Speaking of "ignroance" retard what part of "Comets are the problem" doesn't your chicken-stupid ass get?

Let me break it down in itty bitty bits so you understand:

Before Welfare Comets = Whitesboro had graduation in public building.
After Welfare Comets = NO graduation.

Guess THAT means the Comets have to fucking go now little woman. See how fckng easy that is no matter what the decrepit contract says?

Do you need a chart or should we carve this into your forehead? Again obviously this IS rocket science to your ignorant ass. I'll remind you when the news is talking about the change. Obviously it was no state of the art contract now straighten out your shit or you won't be there to cause the problems shortly. End of story.

*ignorance

When they prevent people from using a public building heads need to roll. BTW have you goofs seen the new Facebook boycott page? If the Comets are "so smart" then why didn't they foresee the public resentment? Can these parasites step off and stop making problems out of themselves? This won't go away. I suggest you find people who can grasp the intricacies of this because many of you seem to be struggling and stuck on stupid about this.

Nobody is preventing them from using the building. Whitesboro just needs to follow the same rules that everyone else who wants use of the building does.

Basic contact provisions and insurance issues seem to be beyond some of the people who are so angry.

Let me break down the steps:

1). Have your Superintendent call the school's insurance agent and say these words "please add the Auditorium Authority as an additional insured on our General Liability policy."

2). Bring the policy documents referenced above to the Auditorium Authority.

Or

3). Call the folks at Proctor and ask them to help do 1 & 2 as they apparently have figured it out.

Or realize that the administration wants the graduation at the school and that is why 1 & 2 are not being done. This is not a hard or uncommon process.

All the zoo's in any city has chimps, see if you can get one to teach you how to wash dishes, mop a floor, clean a toilet. Then imagine having a real life, making min wage, being able to buy gas and get out of our public housing unit and not be consumed with real men who have money.

i doubt it, but someday you might even get that IQ up to 10 and worry about real problems like being taxed to death so our HOME BOYS can live for free, or how we feed our HOME BOYS in prison and raise them.

Just think of not being a failure living on topix consumed with people who have lives while your life is a welfare joke.
