This is a great "Score" for Utica, NY. Welcome to the NYS AHL-Hockey rivalry. We lived in Rochester for last 4 years with our two sons currenty living in Rome. I couldn't be more excited to get a family "rivalry" as well. This is a great league and could only benefit you Utica folks. Cities such as Cleveland, Chicago, Toronto, etc...will now know who you are and what you stand for!

Look forward to traveling & seeing more than a few games there (and not just for hockey, as your food kicks Western NY's butt!)

I see everyday scumbags on the streets, waiting in line @ Walmart spending their "welfare checks" on video games and candy bars and buying cell phones that even I can't afford. I see my fucking tax dollars going to THAT every god damn day and it makes me sick. Meanwhile they sit at home doing NOTHING but having more and more kids and starving their dogs.
If you think you're going to push that this hockey team and Aud improvments is a bad thing to spend money on you're in a world of confusion. Open up your eyes. Don't tell me about spending $$$ poorly. If you saw what I do on a daily basis of where our taxes are really going you would have used a nuse on yourself already. Just close the trap and show a little support for our valley for Christ sake.

And people who don't care and don't pay attention will continue to suffer as this region falls deeper and deeper into the hole.

Again, don't confuse being realistic with being hateful.

One definition of insanity is doing the same thing over and over then expecting a different result. We've tried this type of thing repeatedly through the years and always with the same result. What makes this different? That's not hate. It's an objective look at past history and using the information to predict the future.

I see your point, but ONLY to a point. "WE" have never done this before. Yes we have had an AHL team before, but at those times the Devils themselves called all the shots from NJ. This time around we have several locals who not only live in th area but are raising families in the area. That alone, to me, gives this second-time around a hell of a lot more confidence in making this work (and I'm not even a hockey fan)

You sniffing glue, waste our time with your excuse of how what you said changes anything, people stopped going, like everything it gets old, when they give a free food to go then it would last a lifetime.

I guess the difference for me is three things.#1 is Local people operating the team, the devils didn't know the area and didn't put much effort into that aspect.#2 which I didn't expect, is the use of them comets name which has excited a lot of people. and 3rd, are the changes being made to the aud to bring it out of the dark ages, new parking, better atmosphere, more to do. is it going be enough long term?? I don't know, but its defiantly going help. time will tell, but the hockey community is ecstatic!!!!! Vancouver has made a 6 yr commitment and so has mv gardens..... the lower tier of hockey will not work here for the real fan.it has to be AHL. I was down there yesterday, and the building needs a serious cleaning and painting......
