Let's not compare D 3 hockey like utica college to AHL hockey. .. and I'm quite sure they don't want to market to Utica scum. People in New Hartford, w'boro, sauquoit and other suburbs will support this brand of hockey. .. and can afford a couple of season tix for 1500. All u welfare scum that expect everything for free. ... stay home

for some reason some of the people on here think everyone on earth lives in poverty and on welfare... was at the aud today and they have to be tween 750-800 season tickets sold already. and alot of improvments coming to the aud, it wont be like when the devils where here, thats for sure!!!!!

Actually the Bosnian and Russian area folks should be interested in hockey too. Many a player have come from that area and many more will. They have the money and will support something they believe in.

The number I heard on the news was 500 and their goal is 2500.

Regardless, the important number is the $5.25 million of taxpayer money going to fund this. Also, has anyone asked whether the county or state has made any financial commitment to cover Vancouver's operating losses?

I see everyday scumbags on the streets, waiting in line @ Walmart spending their "welfare checks" on video games and candy bars and buying cell phones that even I can't afford. I see my fucking tax dollars going to THAT every god damn day and it makes me sick. Meanwhile they sit at home doing NOTHING but having more and more kids and starving their dogs.

If you think you're going to push that this hockey team and Aud improvments is a bad thing to spend money on you're in a world of confusion. Open up your eyes. Don't tell me about spending $$$ poorly. If you saw what I do on a daily basis of where our taxes are really going you would have used a nuse on yourself already. Just close the trap and show a little support for our valley for Christ sake.

You need to wake up I think. Next time the OD publishes the graduation rate for the Utica school system or the next time your car is in the shop for a front end alignment from driving the Utica streets think about the cost benefit ratio for using taxpayer dollars for Aud improvements. This is just another in a long line of crummy deals that will end up benefitting only a few and costing the rest of us dearly.

I'm not talking about giving more money to welfare recipients. I'm talking about giving the money back to those who earned it in the form of lower taxes. Lower taxes are going to benefit us, nit a hockey team.

Please don't confuse being realistic with negativity.

The only leverage we have against public officials who are ruining out state with deals like this by exposing it for what it is.

If you get a chance to watch the press conference pay particular attention to Rob Esche as he thanks the person who knew which doors to knock on in Albany and how to get the appointments with the movers and shakers who control the allocation of our tax dollars. That ladies and gentlemen would be the lobbyist that Esche, DuRoss and the rest of their syndicate, who stand to gain financially, paid for the service would be my guess. People do nothing but complain when that kind of shady politics takes place except when it happens for something they enjoy or want to see happen. Politics at its' worst but because you like hockey you'll give it a pass.
