Our Congressman, Richard Hanna voted to deny our retired Miltary veterans any cost of living adjustments. That means that it wil cost veterans about $120,000 in retirement pay over their lifetimes. What a betrayal by our congressman who likes to claim he is the friend and supporter of our veterans who have risked their lives in wars in Afghanistan and Iraq. Of course, Hanna had no problem voting to continue free government give ways and benefits to those who don't work. Hanna believes that our generous government welfare programs should continue on the backs of those of us who have fought and died for our country. There are a lot of veterans in our area and I for one will not vote to reelect Hanna. I don't care who is running against him. He or she has my vote.

I think your anger at Hanna has clouded your ability to avoid blaming the Victims of his Party. The Votes you speak of are not exclusive to "those who don't work" as you put it, Do you have any idea how many Vets receive food stamps and other forms of public assistance?
The Republican Party is ignoring the needs of the Least among us, Including Veterans.

Merry Christmas, EVERYONE!!!

Yes, Hanna voted to cut $6.4 billions from Veterans who fought in war while voting to retain $4.2 Billion in aid for immigrants and no cuts to Welfare.

Thanks Mr Hanna! This vet will not be voting for you!

Despite all their talk on the contrary, Republicans really don't give a crap about veterans and never have.

Maybe one of them was a sniper and is sick an tired of these vile trash, an can put a bullet through his skull and the ape destroying America.

Veterans groups are angry after President Obama told them Monday that he is still considering a proposal to have treatment for service-connected injuries charged to veterans' private insurance plans.

A president who bows to foreign muslim leaders, did not hold a vigil for the victims at Fort Hood, shakes hands with his military escort and was the first president not to attend the Army Navy Game...his 'support of the vets' smacks of votes buying to me. I'm not fooled by the man's motives. He could care less for the military or their plight. He just wants to protect votes.

Removing the Corporate influence from the Political arena is the only answer, and if you truly believe in focusing on reality....then GET REAL!!!! The Republican Party is and ALWAYS has been the Party of Big Business, Corporations, and the Wealthy.
There are certainly Democrats who have been influenced by huge donors and special interests but the Party on a whole has always been the Party of the Middle Class and Working Americans.
Bernie Sanders(independent of VT.) is the Man for 2016......Spread the word "Tag your it"

This thread smacks if more veterans entitlement woes. Take responsibility for your own actions and stop crying poor me and act like the strong people you all claim to be and not only when it's convenient. Were you drafted? NO! Suck it up!

100% agree. I fully appreciate veterans and what they have done but they were paid for the job they did. Should they get benefits...sure...but at some point it needs to be controllable. Public servants seem to have a sort of self entitlement.

I'm a retired school teacher...well not exactly retired...I was asked to step down. 18 kids over a five year span came forward that I inappopriately touched them. All lies.

Speak for yourself. You promote and independent here, but almost in the same breath, and in NUMEROUS other posts/threads you defend and even promote OBO and/or dems all the while decrying the repubs. Who are you and your independent hogwash fooling? You need to figure out who and what you really are. There are no dems or repubs, and even many independents are otherwise aligned with one side or the other in most cases. THEY ARE ALL THE SAME REALITY, ALL THE SAME UGLY MONSTER and none of them are FOR WE, THE PEOPLE OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA (NOT the criminal private U.S. Corporation-know the difference.)!

IMO, more than politicians or civil servants, if you willingly choose to serve what you believe is your nation's legit security interests vis-a-vis the military, you deserve the best pay and benefits while in service, and far more so during combat realities, as well as something practical after. For sure, if a person has served in/during combat they should be well compensated for the rest of their natural lives, including the very best free healthcare. Wounded veterans or the families of deceased veterans killed in action should be financially compensated until death to the highest degrees possible. If politicians, most of whom never having served in boy scouts, much less military, were to make (as they should) yeoman's wages far less than active or active reserve military wages, it's far less likely we'd ever have phony criminal wars, or phony, bs, criminal career politicians... Imagine that? Also, politicians who vote for war should also be forced first in line by law to serve in direct combat positions as privates, when the time comes to face the bullets. Imagine what world peace we'd have?

That was incredibly incoherent. Did you copy and paste that from Rand Paul?????
