Mayor Palmeri

Thank you Mayor for your hard work in turning this great city around. I was not born or raised here, but choose to live here. I found Utica to be a forgiving city where anyone who wanted to work hard would and will be rewarded and respected. Theses are the same ethics which made this country great... Mayor Palmeri has done more to bring life into this city than others before him, I know plan to sell my home in New Hartford and move to Utica!

Ah, what a fine peice of satire you have written. It makes me want to move to Utica. But when the reality of it all starts to rear its ugly little head, we can see that Utica is nothing more than an extension of the county landfill. I just watched some kind of crap program on the local Fox station with Palmieri talking about how Utica is turnig around, and about the great things going on with the Aud and a bunch of fast food places and a new Patel Motel being built in North Utica. He's talking about how these will bring all kinds of new jobs to Utica and that there will be thousands of people out and about at night patronizing these places. This all leaves me to wonder, with the lack of high paying, quality jobs in Utica, who is going to be able to afford spending money here? Out of towners on their way down the thruway to somewhere else might stop for a burger and spend the night at the Patel Motel, but Utica natives won't. Eighty percent of this city is crumbling, ten percent already has, and the remaining ten percent of improvement does not compensate for the rest. What is the point of celebrating the grand opening of a half dozen little businesses, when a hundred other ones bit the dust the week before?

Hopefully you then woke up. Must be written by the mayor. He is an evil, hard headed, dictator and a bully. He is destroying what's left.

All those who complain about utica should get involved and do something. Talk is cheap! I was born, raised, and educated in Utica and earned a decent living. Those who are not satisfied should move elsewhere - if they can find a better place !

If they can find a better place? Are your mother and father related?

There are lots of better places. Any place is better than Utica. So you ask, why don't the complainers go to a better place? Well, let me tell you why. Its not that we can't do that, it is because we have reasons to stay here in the middle of this disaster called Utica. Most of those reasons have to do with family. If you are born and raised here, and everybody that matters to you lives here, you stay. If you are made the mistake of settling down here in your younger years, you might have a house that you are paying off and will be retiring in the future. You stay here until you reach retirement age, then you leave. Trust me, if it was not for family ties, I would have left here years ago. It is a true dump of a city and has no chance of getting better. Utica is where everything goes to die.

Not hard finding a better place, since most any city, with a few exceptions such as Detroit, are better places. In fact, Detroit might even be better than Utica!

Rob has his ideas and wants for his City. To talk down about this Mayor is sort of screwed up because ive always found him to be very helpfull, honest and rightous.

In closing and as some others have said above, "if you are not part of the solution then you must be part of the problem"

This post made me fall off my chair laughing. You're gonna sell your house in new hartford where property value assessments continue to climb year after consecutive year, but you're gonna buy a home in Utica? Are you high? Are you suicidal or just into hurting yourself? This is just dumb. No one believes your post. Go play in the street.

>The first thing Utica should do is to have all the white race convince all the black NYC relatives and friends of all the criminals currently in prison to go back to New York City and take their own criminal ways with them

The blacks in Utica are the ones responsible for Utica's decline - NOT the politicians.

apparently you must be a politician...the city of Utica needs a CLEAN slate..Politicians here are the worst ever. The Mayor is in cahoots with all of them..You can call codes, a politician, the mayor, etc. with any legitimate gripe, and all they do is "PASS THE BUCK" Look all around, it's in plain sight. Campers, cars, trailer hitches on lawns in residential streets, garbage infested areas all over the city, unkempt lawns (absentee landlords houses falling down...call CODES, all you get is LIP service. This city will never get anywhere with political corruption. the policy is "You wash my hand, I'll wash yours", and until this ceases, we are at a standstill. Politicians have ruined whats left of the city.

Come on why we blammin the africans for all our problems? Because it is all their faults thats why. The country is broke, detroit is bankrupt because we cant afford to pay for the legions of generations of africans anymore, freeloading off the city, state and federal governments. Ppl want some truth talk about parasitic africans in the USA, how their golden half black president just keeps throwing dirt on the grave of the USA with his handouts to ppl who have been getting handouts as a way of life for hundreds of years.

@ S&S - one white for every 50 or 75 africians maybe, you are misguided and out of touch with truth and reality.
