Waiting for the Utica Property Tax Increase?

It is that time of the year again and the property owners will be getting out the vaseline. Will Palmieri do the right thing and keep the taxes below Cuomo's Tax Cap? I really do not know but if you are a betting man, watch out for the Dog and Pony Show by the mayor and the council. The same bullshit problems will be told to the taxpayers again. We have cut deep enough in public safety which is more bullshit. This mayor like mayors before him have chosen to let the city aging streets and infra structures deteriorate while he gives carte blanche to his depratment heads in public safety especially the Fire and Police, while the DPW is strapped. Could it be he has special family interests along with a council member who has a special family interest in pblice safety. This mayor knows where his bread is buttered and so does certain council members. I for one believe that any one who votes for a property tax increase either has to be on the take or mentally ill.

I saw the article the other day in the Observer Disgrace and remembered when the Mayor touted all the good stuff happening in Utica with all the development etc etc at the State of the City speech.

I guess he lost the page of his speech regarding the bleak outlook for city finances. Wish the state would just take over and get it over with. I'm sure there is probably a lot of funny business going on.

What makes this all so comical he said last week in his state of the city address is that he's turned the city around financially and righted the ship. I was very surprised he kept the tax increase to the maximum allowed by the state.

Palmieri is a liar and a bully. He is a pay for service mayor or your screwed. He has done nothing, all smoke screens. HSBC is a dead deal.

They are grasping at straws. The unions are getting nervous too. Them along with dept heads will be out scouring for more revenue. Keep the empire afloat. Sad.

I moved and live in a suburb. I have no interest in Utica nor will I stand for my taxes being leeched off to the city. Everyone knows they have visions of pots of gold over those city lines they'd love to fill the coffers with. Stay the fhuck out.

I lived in Utica for 10 Yrs and I rent. With In the yrs I have lived here I have moved around 4 times. Not because I wanted to, It's because the city keeps Evicting me because of all of the slumlords in this city. My last slumlord John Catera had no problems with collecting the rent on time but refuse to pay the taxes so without me knowing the city gives me a 30day eviction notice. When trying to contact slumlord Catera about my deposit return, he is nowhere to be found. Utica is a terrible place to live, I plan to move out of state and insist that everyone in Utica to do the same. Let the refugees have this place.
