Tomato Pie is very typical of most of Utica's "claims" to fame.

Make a half pizza without cheese and call it "THE BEST!" LOL! When family comes and we give them "tomato bread" they always laugh and ask "where's the cheese"? LOL!

Uticans ALWAYS settle for less while calling it MORE! It's how it looks around Utica not how it IS!

Get som cheese! Utica has enough cheesy wops can't we get some cheese?

Roma is always stale and flavorless. That big goon at the counter acts like he's doing you a favor.

I asked those guys once to put topping on a 1/4 rather than 1/2 a pizza. They looked at me like I was giving them a math quiz.

Trenton tomato pie has mozzarella on it. People around Utica that say tomato pie are talking about a version without mozz that was sold in Utica since 1914.

I would love to know who sold the first one but I can't find any evidence prior to 1914.
