The city only owns the police public parking lot which is for employees and crows picking up their family from jail. They do not charge to park there

The lot was across the street from police lot, on corner of Oriskany Blvd and ?(not sure of street name). Who owns this lot? The man collecting the money kept yelling not to park on the street next to the white building or you will get towed. We did see the spray painted signs that said "no parking", and did not want to get towed. So is the owner of the lot paying taxes on all the cash he collects? Let's find out who owns this lot and make sure they pay taxes on the money! It should regulated by the city? Yes ...no? They seem to have an answer for all the other dumb things that go on in the city.

WTF is this? We taxpayers have to pay for this? oh, I know. We ALL benefit when the Comets benefit, right? That's BS. Bend over, here it comes again, taxpayers.

If it's the old Hess with the Labor Ready renting there it is owned by noneother than the patron saint of education Angela Elefante, she of the Rufus Elefante fungus strain who is begrudged the city won't name a park after her barking gorilla father Roofie if that's not too hysterical for you considering he set the path Uticuh is on today. The property came from an old skool friends/family deal that spat out of the subdividing for the Aud project back in 1950 our time - today in Utica time. I forgot the name of the authority. They paid about $28 for the land. Rufus the missing link left the land to his daughter.
The tow kid is Dave Taurisano of the Speedy Awards Taurisanos. Interesting backstory between he and Angela E but we won't go there yet.
This was the subject of a huge super major in depth-total-coverage news bit. The UPD arrested the parking gougers for some ordinance that says jokers not on the Utica PD towing list couldn't charge you more than x I think x being $95. Angela E. showed up as speshullll council for Dave in court and it disappeared.
The parking issue is separate from the extra space available at Elefante's & Dave's Crackhead Ready and Towing cottage industry.
Tom Clark owns the land on the other side. So this is just another friendly deal. If the hockey - which I think is good for Utica - is doing that well why don't they show that to a real bank and borrow? From day 1 the Utica Aud was designed to be a way to funnel money from Albany d-bags to whichever generation of Utica Friends and Family is mismanaging the place. It will never change. It's not even a problem the state should be handling but Tom Clark will appreciate your money I am sure. "Problem" solved the usual way.
The lot that was collecting $10 is on the side of Oriskany Blvd that has the the old laundry building. The spray painted signs are still up again the building...sometimes turned over when they are not collecting money. So is the money collected reported to the IRS? Can I request a receipt for the next $10 I pay for parking? And I do not mean a ticket stub I can buy at the local partystore.

A parking lot for the Aud has been needed for a long time. If the county wants to pay for it , so be it . Any improvements to the Aud is a plus for the whole community. A lot of people are anxiously waiting to see the completed project. It looks beautiful inside with the new improvements.

Progress comes with money and since the average citizen locally has not seen progress in their lifetime they are shocked to see progress being made. Quit living in the 50's and get with the program. I for one am happy to see progress being made locally, especially in Utica. You cheap bastards need to get a life.

$500,000???? They need to drop about 5 million into the aud. Tear off the outer concourse, widen it another 50 feet. New bathrooms. Move all the ice making equipment and heating system at the stage end and install seating there. Then Utica will have a building to draw entertainment.

Progress is when the taxpayers finally see a return on all of the tax dollars that get poured into these schemes that benefit only a few.

Progress isn't measured when construction is going on and paid for by taxpayers. That's just a temporary bump like the stimulus. Real progress is measured long after the money is spent. Remember when the Stanley Theater backstage expansion partially funded by taxpayers was going on? How about when the renovation of Hotel Utica was going on? What about the money poured into Union Station? Here we are years after the taxpayer's money was spent on those progressive projects and we are further behind than ever.

The Aud and the Comets are no different than those projects and we will only be able to assess what progress has been made years from now. Five years from now we may be able to look back and judge but if we use history as our guide in predicting success then I don't hold out much hope for your supposed "progress".

One of the definitions of insanity is doing the same thing over and over then expecting a different result. Don't confuse skepticism based on history with being negative either. Anyone in their right mind longs for progress in this region.

Yes, you have the right to request a legal receipt for the $10 you paid for parking.
So, everyone parking near AUD, an paying for parking ask for a legal receipt. It must be provided to you. If the person collecting the money can not provide a receipt, then they are not a legitimate. They are reportable to the Attorney General's office for the scam they are running. There is local office in Utica that you can contact. Keep records of money/dates/location of when money was paid. I say use your cell phone and get some pics of signs showing parking fees and other signs. This can be better investigated with as much information as possible.

Piss-ente proposed this because some of his close gumbahs must've had their cars towed away while watching a Comets game. An earlier post stated that if Prince Tony issues a decree or edict the legislators follow in complete lockstep. This is pretty much the way this county is run.

Well if you follow the money it's easy to see the link between Rob Esche (Managing Utica Aud) and Alicia Dicks (President of Fort Schuyler Management Club- the org who is getting the cash to build Nano City) and Steve DiMeo (MVEDGE and GLDC)- Rob and Alicia also are partners that own Aqua Vino. Alicia is also involved in Harbor Point and just got a large award $$$ from Governors Economic Development Commission and MVEDGE will handle the rest. It doesn't take a nuclear scientist to connect the dots... so have it folks.

UC game this Saturday. Everyone request a legitimate reciept. Do not accept a ticket stub bought at the local party store. REQUEST a reciept that should have date, time, and amount paid. Also, should have a name of company, city, or muncipality who collects the money on reciept. All parked cars on the street, take a pic of where you parked, that show you are legally parked. Keep pics for proof that you did not block the broken down garage doors! Be careful...cars in some lots have been broken into during hockey games. That has been kept quiet! Put all valuables in trunk before going to game!

go to any city in this country ....Syracuse new York ,,,,good example.. and park on private property and see what happens. Only in Utica the half wit above who bashes people and thinks he can park where he wants to and get away with it. speaks out. He probably has an axe to grind with these people he mentioned and is trying to gather public interest to sooth his lost ambitions.

It good to know what goes on in Utica. There are so many sneaky people and others who are not on the up and up in this area. More people need to speak up! Ripping people off for your personal gain will come back to BITE YOU! The guilty will not have a very happy life...a lot of sad people in Utica.
