10 year terms

$152,500 annual salary to start. Medical benefits, staff to administer, retirement additional to the annual salary.

Court is broken and dysfunctional as it is.

Will any of these candidates do anything to better the system?

Your thoughts?

I think it's closer to $130,000.

In oneida county we have more cases in family court then downstate. It needs a judge who has the Experience to arbitrate and mediate cases to get something done. Family court is not a court where you have the time to learn on the job. Karen Stanislaus knows this court, she has a passion for family law,its what she does. Lupi is a very competent as a DA., but she has no experience with Family matters. She has prosecuted sex offenders, Family Court does not prosecute divorce or custody matters. Lupi is an expert in her field but its not Family law. Ask yourself would you go to a dermatologist for a kidney stone..after all they are both doctors. Think about this election.

As was rightly pointed out in another post, Dawn Lupi is tied to the E. Utica political machine. She's a goombah of the highest order. I see her as another Bernadette Romano.

She could do much better without Goodman's endorsement. What's his interest as a legislator in this race.

Actually..for once in Oneida County..all are great...Lupi is brilliant, uncorruptable and competent,
Julia knows her stuff, as Karen..John is a no nonsense guy who will cut to the chase...this is a tough race for anyone that really knows the players.

All candidates come to the table with many strengths. Karen has the ability to mediate cases and put the children first. Her greatest strength is getting the attorneys and litigants to work together for a better outcome for both sides. This is a overburdened court that needs someone with common sense .She has been involved with many community programs involving families. She knows the area and the people. She will dedicate herself to this judgeship because she loves what she does. She will serve 10 years and not be looking to move on!

Hey Karen spend more time on judge jimmies decisions. Common knowledge u were a lousy lawyer and u work 4 the worst family court judge who gave u the job cause no one else would take it. All your posts on here are ludicrous. You didn't get the democratic endorsement cause you NOT qualified

None of these candidates are qualified.

NONE of them have childhood development experience, or education in Childhood development in their background.

The family court system is broken, So what do we do? Add another judge! Makes NO sense.

Fix the problems inherent within the system before adding another judge and budgeting $5 million for a new facility in Rome.

Look at the results of the judges in place now. What have they done as a result of their being in their positions? Look at the number of cases seen before the court, domestic abuse cases, even murders. The Longo case can be attributed to the bad decision making of Judge Griffith. City was sued for $2 million, but the judge can not be held civilly responsible...ie NO ACCOUNTABILITY

How do these judges make things better? THEY DO NOT. They make things worse.

Add 10 year term limits and you have real problems. What happens when a judge becomes bitter, removed and burned out? They don't care and they take it out on the people who come before them seeking help. Then innocent law abiding citizens become victims of the system. Children are harmed, not helped. WE NEED LESS JUDGES AND MORE ACCOUNTABILITY OF THOSE JUDGES WE DO HAVE! We need judges with experience in Childhood development.

I disagree. The courtrooms are full of social workers that can offer that insight. A judge needs to have some matrimonial experience, because most of the cases stem from crappy relationships between adults, and criminal law to handle the delinquents.
