Athletic Cmte Attendee

New Hartford, NY

The picture was taken directly after the NHL school athletic Cmte meeting (BTW) which was attended by Ms. Soggs on Monday, May 13, 2013. Mr. Flemma was TRUTHFUL in what he said. Whoever of you war mongrels is writing this awful stuff...YOu ALL should be ashamed of yourself. Even listening to the videotaped meetings of the athletic c,met and references made that NH is "ELITE" makes me glad I do not live in NH. You people need a lesson in humility!

Wow, this is getting dirty. All this over a small town Board of education library. That's typical of the New Hartford branch of the Friends and Family plan. The're all smiles and your friend until they perceive a real threat to their prestige and power base and then the knives come out. I guess Drew Ward and the Board of Education and library trustees must of been spooked by all of the Ed Flema for BOE signs all around New Hartford.

Really "MOM", hearsay and name calling - what a great example you are setting for your children. Between your post and the ones Beth Soggs put on Facebook, I am not sure which of you deserves a "mom of the year award" the most for demonstrating what NOT to do. Congratulations!

Mr Ward is the best choice.
Smart and a stand up guy.

I know both candidates and have attended a meeting to hear them talk. They both gave some background and talked about their reasons for wanting to be on the BOE. Mr. Flemma did bring up the Report Card article on safety, but since safety has been one of his campaign issues I am not surprised. However, the timing of the article is very interesting or should I say convenient for it appears that The BOE felt compelled to act on Mr. Flemma's safety concerns. By the way, I feel much safer knowing that the janitorial staff is trained to pick up anything someone could have left behind after having free rain to walk the halls after hours (in case you do not realize it - this is sarcasm). And, yes, before the meeting I attended, I did walk the halls just to see if it can be done. Mr. Flemma certainly did not exaggerate about that concern.

Moving on, Mr. Flemma talked about his concerns, how he could add value to the BOE and what areas he feels need improvement. Mr. Ward talked about the long hours it takes to be on the BOE, but never mentioned any goals or objectives he would like to see accomplished in the event he was re-elected. I was hoping and expecting more from him.

As for the running of their campaigns, it appears that Mr. Ward's supporters have had to resort to hearsay, slander and name calling which from what I have seen has not been done by Mr. Flemma's supporters. Interesting point to ponder.

Really "mom" there you go again with your name calling - once again setting a wonderful example for your children. Maybe Mr. Flemma doesn't feel your bullying and name calling needs a response.
"School" you must be a jealous coach who does not have the same respect of the kids that Coach Flemma had and still does. If you want proof, just walk down a hallway with him and see how many kids come up to talk with him. By the way, Coach Flemma knows them all by name. He was there to help all students with the strength training program, not just football players. Actually, that is the type of person I want on the BOE. You should try to work on your jealousy, it is not becoming.

The truth is,"MOM", that you are the one acting like a bully and name calling on a public media forum. Maybe you should work on the example you are setting for the kids of this community. How can we expect the best from the next generation when parents like you are setting such fine examples. Before casting anymore stones, look at your own actions - are you proud of them? Do you want your children to see what you wrote?

Anyone who uses engages in a smear campaign by proxy (Fellow Board member Beth Soggs)and needs a library trustee (Rich Evans) to be his spokesman is neither smart nor a stand up guy.

Excuse me, but I never said that autistic children can't improve. And I know Mr. Flemma's little boy and I agree with what you said. He is a sweetheart. I do not work in the NH program, but at a program elsewhere. If Mr. Flemma knows that autism can not be "fixed", then he should have not have used that term. That made HIM sound ignorant, and trust me, he lost a lot of votes that he may have had. I actually like Mr. Flemma, but after the false things he stated, obviously I won't vote for him. And yes, I realize that you don't care. Good luck to Mr. Flemma and if he is elected, then I hope he does a wonderful job on the BOE.
I've got no problem with someone who speaks in public using the wrong term TWICE to get a point across, as long as he notes the error and clarifies himself. Public speaking is difficult, and at times thoughts are not articulated so well once they get to the mouth.

I do have a problem with someone who fixes upon a misused word TWICE, and then tries to make it an issue.

I can't speak for him, but maybe Mr. Flemma has "fixing things" on his mind, because there is a lot of broken stuff that needs fixing. I'm not interested in having yet another "careful public speaker" on the BOE so that I can watch them dance on a tea cup. I AM interested, however, in having someone who is interested in fixing things.

NH community got duped

I've read quite a few different Blogs about Ed Flemma. It's obvious to anybody with 1/2 a brain there is some sort of campaign being done on Ed's behalf (if not be himself) to get him into NH boards and committees. Ed Flemma has not been totally honest about his past. He mentions everything else, except his 26 years at Halliburton. Do some research. Given enough time, the NH community will get sick of him.

It is not clear to me what you are driving at. Are you saying that 26 years of managing multi-million-dollar projects for a Fortune 500 company is a bad thing? Are you implying that he was dismissed from Halliburton for some reason? If so, please tell us the reason, or at least imply it.
