Has anyone received the money that NYS has committed to the victims of the June/July flooding?
I had the "verifier" come to my home in early August and he said it would take a couple of weeks, but haven't heard anything from anyone since.

Ask your state senator or assemblyman next time their robot calls your phone for a campaign advertisement. It's rarely much more than a few days between calls.

Can't help the flood victims but the money is flowing like water to the Aud to make sure he new hockey team is taken care of.

$5.25 million from state taxes and another $2 million from the county. Can't lower the sales tax either though.

Is it me or are some priorities out of whack?

You can also ask your state senator or assemblyman the next time they have a press conference to give away more of your tax dollars to the well connected few.

Better yet, conduct a ground-breaking in your back yard. Your elected officials will be climbing over one another to get into the photo-shoot.

Inspector was at my house in August as well. Have not been contacted or heard anything. I see how they gave out half the money for the county already though.

Any update on this? Anyone nhartford/Clinton received a check? I too had inspector tell me to expect check shortly - that was >6 weeks ago. I lost all my utilities, flooring, driveway, etc - I know many lost more, at least my house is still standing. However with cooler temps and heating contractors getting booked up thru oct, I still don't know if-when-if not any funds are going to be made available. So, anyone outside of herkimer or Oneida receive any financial assistance and if so, was it enough to be of any real help?

I had an inspector come in early August and 2 weeks later got a call to schedule a new one. It seems they had some problems with reports not getting turned in and they had to let some people go.
Second inspection was around 4 weeks ago. I was told that it was aprox a 6 week process. As of today I dont even know the amount of the grant.

I had the 2nd inspection too, although I was told just to get measurements. It would be nice to know SOMEthing, hard to make any kind of decision. I think they extended the application date to sept 10 (yesterday) and only then would they know how to divvy up the funds; that still doesn't make sense tho as they've already given checks to flood victims in Oneida + herkimer. Well, misery loves company, I feel somewhat better knowing I'm not the only one, smiles

Still nothing here as well. Had the inspection about a month ago. I have no information to even follow up on. How are they going to give away half the money without all the claims even being done? Seems weird to me.

Hardly free money. Every recipient is a homeowner that pays taxes. It's about time we got some help too. Usually all the government help goes towards people who have never paid a dime into the system.

not a word. Knowing how much $ they've already sent out + that this small comment section is the only group I can find who has not rec'd any assistance - well, I think we r s*** out of luck w/ no help in sight.

I lost my driveway, kitch and hall floors, hot h20, furnace, etc - but it's all fixable ...
+ my house is still standing and most importantly there was no loss of life.

My loss is so minor in the face of what people lost fr sandy. And now Colorado.

I hope the people in Colorado fare much better with their governor and my heart goes out to them.

I just called the help line. They said we will be sent a Check by the 30th or a denial and reason why. They said if we do not receive it by then to call back. The helpline number is 1-888-769-7243.

That is exactly what they have been telling me since mid- Aug, they just keep changing the date; one of the associates admitted they just didn't know - I stopped calling, no reason to keep bothering them.

I hope if someone does receive funds OR a denial they post that info. Good luck.
