Now this is just silly. If you know how to do something and can save a few hundred dollars it makes sense to do it yourself. If you do not know how, or have the money then sure pay someone to do it. Also, some people enjoy this work.

HE has come along way in last ten years or so .He must be doing something right and puts a ton of money back into his business.I drive by there a few times a week and no one has ever tried to force me to stop in against my will.So I guess if you dont like the place or the way he runs it dont go there.Have a good day you fucking crybabies .For those of you who lease or buy new every two years keep it up .You take it in the rump and I will buy it for half price when your done breaking it in.Thanks again

Not for nothing but to answer a few concerns others have.

Vince's is a great place to pull an engine. They will pull it out and bring it to your car.

The reason people want to do this is either to fix their car, they like to build engines, to find engines no longer manufactured, to keep OE parts on a classic.

The only issue I have is the younger blond girl is rude and over charges for parts she don't know what they are. I got charged for an ICM when I was actually holding an ECM. They rectified the problem and gave me back the overage.

They watched me tear a bike apart in there and said nothing about the mess of parts left behind.

An inventory of cars would be useful but they crush cars daily so it would be difficult to keep such a thing.

They do a fairly decent jobs of separating vehicles by manufacturer and leave it to you to find your vehicle. They may even hold a vehicle if it isn't for a extremely long time.

They have also encouraged me to pull a part and if I didn't have the money to pay for it right then I should stash it in a cat that was just put out there.

Over all they are a great place to get discount parts and in some cases better parts.

If you are unable to pull an engine with normal tools then you should not be there. I imagine they would be fine taking a jack in there to help jack the engine to take stress off mounts so the bolts can be pulled easier.

You should always prep your bolts before even attempting to take them out and that can be done with PB blaster and a wire wheel on a battery drill. Since they allow battery operated tools.

The only thing I find stupid is you can't take a whole frame but thats NY hassle laws and not them.

And anyone who says lease a new car or something of that nature, Well tell that to someone who may be rebuilding a 69 gto or someone doing an engine swap.

Personally I was planning on buying an Engine, Trans, ECM and harness for an L67 3800 engine so I could drop it in my 4 cylinder car since it is a popular swap to be done to my particular car. Plus I like to be the one to rebuild my engines so I know the work was done right and only has to be done once.

So in short there is a multitude of reasons to use Vince's and we can't help it if you don't know how to rebuild an engine and thats not Vince's fault. Learn to use google and after researching a bit I am sure you will come back with a whole new outlook on Vince's

Once again came in after your warrantee then bitch about your two dollars... And I'm sorry the register u usually use is not the one I'm assigned too... And I make all the prices at that place I forgot I own it lol how dumb of me... Free parts for everyone rant over... U old bastard smile a little

I believe that if you ask someone, they do actually have an inventory of the vehicles. They are probably required by state law to have it. They certainly will not know what parts are presently on a vehicle, but their computer can tell you by make and model where it is located.

Try asking next trip. You may be surprised.

$5-10 for a few minutes at the u-pull vs $50-75 at the dealer. Your choice.

Been there dozens of times. Never treated poorly. Act like a jerk, get treated like a jerk.

The once repositioned a vehicle so that I could get at the spare tire.

Been going there since you had to walk in through the little white building over on the left side.

Not everyone can afford to just go to a dealer and get a new car or get an entire engine fixed. I have a good paying job but i don't make enough to do that.

LOL...I know right who in their right mind would want to save hundreds and in some cases thousands of dollars by recycling and buying cheap parts and also doing your own labor! Just pay a mechanic to change your tires and battery hehehe

Usually getting parts off a car is getting OEM parts, and for most there is no reason to pay for a new part which has a cost of 300 markup over what it cost to make. So depending o what you need, you're very wise to do it the way you do. Remember this is topix and the people who say things like this are probably the people who can't even afford a car.

Vince's is horrible and a rip off. The pudgy girl with the tatoos is an idiot. Their prices are way to high and the employees there are very dumb. Rubicon is way better. Nicer people and better prices. Plus you don't have to deal with that pudgy tattooed girl who is very rude and unstable emotionally. She over charges for parts too. Stay away from
Vince's. Crappy business. Not run well.

I have never had a problem getting any thing from that yard i have puled motors around 8 of them and transmissions around 5 of them count less parts and i had striped a truck frame and bough the frame have puled windshields doors i have pulled every kind of part you can think of and always been able to get any thing i went in to get what i went in the yard for but the one thing that pisses me off the most is when i go in the yard fully prepared for any thing i come up against and i get people who ask for tools i have very expensive tools and i don't loan out my tools and i never ask to barrrow tools from any one if you cant come prepared then don't bother other people instead of walking around bothering other people and asking to barrow tools learn to bring the tools you need or learn to improvise they should have a sign dumb asses not welcome .

They don't keep inventory of their vehicles. Such a simple concept, but instead you have to make the drive and possibly waste your time.

If a bolt or something is frozen, they won't take a single minute to cut it with their torches. Absolutely no help from them.

You are also not allowed to take torches into the yard. yeah I know about liability, but there's other ways to kill yourself in the yard.

I suppose if you need a mirror or alternator they're a good source, but lots of luck pulling engines or axles with your craftsman tool kit.

They are of no help.
Buy real tools. Ive pulled many axles engines and transmissions there. Cant beat the price compared to a yard that pulls parts.
