Yes you idiots. All the above things are exactly what our vill board would allow in there. Are you high?
There is finally an article in the OD about it all......
Nano tech apartments and a possibility of it geared for the over 55 crowd. You absolute ignorant horrible people think you know everything or try to spin malarky because your feeble minds can't handle anything beyond your fantasy land. No one wants subsidized low income housing in the village. Why in the hell would anyone want that? What past actions of any nh politicians at the village level would induce you people to even suggest that.? The village is a nice place. I hope to god you and your ilk don't get involved to the point of ruining it like everything else you've touched since your induction into madness.

So now its for Nano workers who are over 55? Liars!
The Nano factory doesn't even have a wetlands permit approved yet much less a tennant. I can see it now every stupid taxpayer funded boondoggle is now going to be justified by Nano. As for Adler look how well his taxpayer funded business park work out? Fail!

So what happens when the apartments are not filled by "Nano" employees because the demand is not there. The first phase (or Quad-C) of the Nano project may start out with 500 people and possibly rise to 1000/1500 over 5 years (depends on the need for R&D work). Construction for the second phase which is the Nano factory which will actually build microcircuits (e.g., Nanotechnology) has not yet started and they are addressing wetland issues if I am not mistaken. The Nano factory will result in maybe 5000 jobs in 15 years.

While I agree these people will need housing if it all comes to fruition I am also concerned what are the contingency plans for if the people do not come and the housing is not filled as planned? What controls will the town put on the owner of the housing?

The answer is simple and has already been in the works: More refugees. Refugees bring federal dollars to the area and help to artificially buoy up population numbers.

The Utica School district is tapped out and take take any more refugees in. Meanwhile the NH School District is facing declining enrollment numbers (and the loss of state federal aid that come with high student numbers).

So answer is simple, start moving refugees to NH to help with enrollment numbers and to help keep those federal dollars coming in. The Usual Suspects (to include the OD) are trying to mask this behind the so called Nano factory. Enjoy your new status New Hartford as the New Utica!

Contrary to what the concerned fools speculate and scheme....., you dont wait until there is a need for something and then try to build something overnight. That is called missing the mark. And then someone in office would be criticized for that too. These things take time and planning. Now is the time to get in front of this. Where one community delays and falters, another will reap the rewards.

What would you know? You hate everything that has to do with positive forward development. Your just anti progress because its how youre wired. Thank heavens you are a fringe element.

Let the villagers of NH decide -and decide on there own without slanted jaded misinformation from some radical group. Im sure the villagers love looking at that decrepit building complex from bygone era. Cause thats doing so much for the quality of life in the village!

And since when do you people give two toots about the village anyway. Im betting not one of the three members of your merry band even live there. WTF.

I agree with you 100%. The town/village, however, must have the appropriate wording in the zoning and/or agreement to not allow for subsidized housing. That is my main concern.

Personally, I would prefer this area be for businesses such as Doctor offices, Insurance sales, etc. In my opinion, the area is really not that great for housing considering traffic noise. I would not live there....

Wow! Such hate and venom! All the howls of protest assure me that the Concerned Citizens are right on target. The NH Village Planing Board and Mayor are trying to pull a fast open and were hoping that the new subsidized housing would be in place before anyone caught on.

Also, who is the developer? Does he live in the village? Will he have to deal with the monstrosity he is trying to create like the rest of us will? Will he have to deal with the increase in traffic and crime this so called development will bring? I didn't think so...

Correct info is that these will be units for upper income individuals. Should be good for New Hartford all the way around and will definitely be an improvement over a cement factory and a box plant!

Would you live there? Campion road itself has high traffic not including the nearby arterial. Noise, dust, etc would deter me from living there. Just because it is "high income housing" does not mean it will attract "high income" people. In my opinion the location is not goodfor this type of development...

Oops!! More lies from the Usual Suspects! First it was for 55 and above, then it was Nano workers, then it was for Nano workers who are over 55. You can't get your story straight!

Where are these high income people coming from? There isn't enough high income earners moving to New Hartford to support New Hartford's glut of high end housing as it is. Where are these high income people going to work? Where are the high paying jobs to sustain them? If this is for high income earners does that mean there are income level requirements to get in?

Don't believe this for a minute. The Usual Suspects will tell any lie they have to so they can get this built. This is for subsidized housing for bringing in refugees.

Who is behind this development anyway? I bet he doesn't live in the village of New Hartford!

No one wants refugees. If you would take the time to listen to yourself you might realize how stupid you really sound. How do you people get through the average day being so ignorant and stupid ?

And to the post above the previous. In your opinion no development is ever good for the town. You will not stop until we are an open cornfield. Disgusting.

It better not be subsidized housing that would be horrible. It would mean no new tax revenue for NH. And also it is not true at all that the village of NH is declining. ..we dont need a housing complex at all and definitely not a subsidized one at that. I hope that is just a rumor and not true.

So far it looks like the people defending this new subsidized housing project are full of hate and name calling. What they dont have is facts and answers. I would be very afraid New Hartford!

Nobody has defended the project at all. Quite the contrary. Almost all of us would love to see and hear the facts involved. We just chose to not have the wool pulled over our eyes and look at it with closed minds like the simple minded concerned group that hates everyone and everything. If they would simply stick to the information and not have to skew everything to there own point of jaded view it wouldn't be so painful for the rest of us humans.

I look forward to hearing all the facts and making up our own mind.

Housing complex is a possibility.. What a perfect area for higher end housing!! Right on Campion Road and near the noisy arterial. Residents will even be able to watch the trains come in and out delivering shipments to and from the building next door...

More info:
"Steve Buck of Buck Construction said the company has a purchase and sales agreement with property owner Tom Madden contingent upon several factors, including a market assessment.

The initial market for the condos is geared toward individuals 55 and older, Buck said; however, the housing probably wouldn't be exclusive to that age bracket."
