Firing the Board by

Newark, NJ

Impeachment

Your organizational by-laws should describe a process by which a board member can be removed by vote, if necessary. For example, in some organizations a board member can be removed by a two-thirds vote of the board at a regularly scheduled board meeting.

If you do not have a way to vote out board members, add this now to the bylaws, not when there's "a problem with a first and last name."

You can fire a board member but not the whole board, it takes the unity of all employees and sign petitions for the board to be fire, go to the department of labor and they will assign a lawyer to help you with this. Fire the bums, and save the few. Bring back the mission to the standard before Dodge DECEIVED the board and got the job.........Who in the world interviewed this guy, have the clients interview the next one, they are street smart and VERY DIFFICULT TO FOOL THEM

Sometimes the ED likes the "deadwood" board members because it gives them an automatic "yes" person. They like the ones who sit there and say nothing, barely attend the meetings but when it comes to voting, they can get these spineless idiots on their side. There should be some form of neutral party or outside organization that "polices" these boards and ensures that they are running properly. Who remembers the Utica Community Action? Bunch of lowlife idiots put in place to ensure the ED's tenure.....I see the same thing going on today. The decent people people leave the board because they don't even want to deal with the egomaniac EDs. They just sit and wait for the inevitable fall....but how many get hurt in the process and how much money goes down the tubes?

Am reading this postings for the past few months, because the mission interest me, I did my internship in ACC, and I had a wonderful time, never met Mr Talerico but many clients that I had the privilege to help, spoke very highly of this man, I never applied for a permanent position because I always felt threaten by the executive in charge Rev. Dodge, many employees felt the same way, they felt insecure about their positions, maybe Mr Talerico will change that, where employees feel a sense of belonging, we deal with human lives, we are supposed to be Christians let's try a little harder. let's stop preaching and start living by example.

The mission is part of Utica and will be for the next centuries to come, the work they do is exceptional, my husband was in treatment there long time ago, he met wonderful people, I know God will bring the right man, the right leader, I heard about Mr Talerico, my husband mentioned him all the time, let's us pray for the mission and the new leader to come.

I was in the mission four years a go, they treated me nice, got a place and returned to school, I have two more years to go and I hope one day I can come and give some time back to the mission, Ernie is good, he deserves the position.

O.K. I know everybody is stuck on the scandal with the board of the mission, but how many of the homeless must suffer because you pull your donations? you all have comfortable homes you live in. Why take the roof from over the homeless peoples heads. i do think there needs to be a change, but not at the cost of putting these poor residents back out on the streets with no food or no place to sleep or shower. think about that awhile before you decide to pull your funding from the people that it helps, and who really need it.

the reason nobody should donate is that their donations do not go to help the poor. It went to Rev Bill for his sexual escapades, and his big settlement. Plus, take a look at the payroll at the mission, outrageous. Why do you think the board is hiding all the information from everyone. If you want to help the poor at this time , give to the Hope House on Eagle St, or the community food bank. The mission is just about DOA, so save your time and money.

Wheni drive by i always see the poor smoking cigarettes outside. Are they about $10 a pack now? What about their health? Who pays when they get lung cancer.

Bill Dodge is at the Scranton Rescue Mission. I saw his ugly mug on their newsletter - www.krmalliance.org/.../2013-Fall-Newsletter-... ;

Antoher mission for him to destroy. At least they are not paying him as much (96K in Utica and 40K in Scranton). It will not take him long to bring his old ways to a new location.
