Whats the word on un financials? Is flounders group heading for another downgrade??? Eliminating/terminating employees and changing the pto/sick time should help out. I am sure Doug is in-store for another bonus on top of his salary for doing a terrific job. Can't wait to see what changes management will bring in for the new year

The new PTO time is age discrimination, if you have worked there a long time you get 2 days if you have been there a short period of time you get 5 days. Hmmm lets see long time employee makes you older which in turn equals age discrimination.

That doesn't make any sense. They give you LESS vacation time the longer you work there? LMFAO! That's ridiculous!

Get a load of Doug Robinson asking people who work for his company to give him a call about their gripes, or better yet, post their names on this forum. What a bully. Yes, all Utica National employees, post your name on this forum and see how fast you become former Utica National employees. Nothing like asking people to ruin their lives because you don't like their opinions.
What arrogance. Robinson, a multimillionaire member in good standing of our guilded gentry, can post his name here with no repercussions. His multimillion dollar a year salary will be safe no matter what he writes here, even if it is completely idiotic. Mr Tough Talker wouldn't be so brave if he thought there was a one in a billion chance of getting sh.t canned for giving his opinion here. And everyone knows it. But in his self inflated, egotistical fat mind, he actually thinks he's doing something courageous by putting his business number here. Ooooooh, how brave of him. LOL.
He's the Ron Burgandy of corporate CEOs. A half witted bafoon who actually thinks he has something more than half a brain.
As a retired Insurance Underwriter, Mr. Robinson is no different than other so called insurance executives that live in their own little white tower world and ave no inception at all of what the real world of insurance exists. In order to justify their position, they sit in their little offices and dream of ridiculous ideas of how to make profits - and ALL of them fail.

Do any of these so called executives actually sit down for a week and do the work of an Underwriter to see what actually happens in the insurance world? Hell NO - if they did, they would soon learn what it takes to drive in business.

Will go down as the worse CEO. The numbers do not lie. I am sure Doug is reading this. I hope he can put something together that rebuffs this. We don't want to give out false information. LMAO

Yes, I do monitor Topix, but only to correct statements that are not true. I don't comment on opinions, including those from posters who can't spell.

Doug, thanks for the spelling correction. Just want to let you know you are a pos. Can you tell us all the meanings of pos? Is it spelled right? Is it a a registered word in the webster dictionary? You monitor topix so you can bully people. You are probably in your bullet proof room, sitting
in your chair and rotating in it....how is that for an opine???

It's a pretty bad thing when I come into work every day in fear that my job will be outsourced. This company isn't what it used to be, that's for sure.

I heard you did not meet your sales goal. That's terrible for all those hard working people, no bonus. I hope you still get your measly 2% raise. Very happy that I am a former employee.

You are right…the company isn't what it used to be. If it was what it used to be, it would be out of business. You may not agree, but look at Atlantic Mutual, Kemper, Aetna, Continental, USF&G, and others who are not around anymore…at least "as they used to be". Utica National has had to change to stay in business..and we have. The change has been painful for everyone, but necessary. It's OK if you disagree….

You should feel free to ask your manager or supervisor if your job could be outsourced. They owe you an answer. If you are uncomfortable asking them, you can ask me. I'll tell you.

As I write this, the only work we're considering "outsourcing" is some aspects of IT development testing. I'm not convinced that we can't do that work ourselves.

There are no other plans to consider "outsourcing".

I'd be happy to meet with you or to talk to you about it.

Not true.

No one has ever been terminated by offering a dissenting view of the company or any of its policies. In fact, dissenting views, if valid, often make us a better company. We have many avenues to express opinions within the company, including writing to, or speaking with, me personally.

Since I became CEO, I've answered calls into my office and responded to written opinions, criticisms, and suggestions. I will continue to do so.

I want everyone who reads "Topix", or other similar organs, to understand that our company has many avenues to express opinions, and those that choose to only post on "Topix", or similar sites, have made a choice to not communicate their concerns and opinions through safe, available, internal channels.

In short, anyone who says…"I fear for my job if I give my opinion" is flat out wrong.
