The mayor has stated that the up coming budget will be the toughest ever. I guarantee it will not be tuff for him and his cronies. It is going to be tuff for the property owners on this city. He failed miserably along with certain council people who did not cut cost nearly enough in last years budget. Now he will come out with the same song and dance act crying the blues that he has no other option but to raise taxes. This guy does not have a clue on how to get this city back on its feet and the next budget will prove it.

Pete. All will be well. Never fear.
Rob will offer his awesome city public services to all the surrounding suburbs for a small fee. And those suburbs will jump all over it to pay the city millions to take care of business. The buckets of cash will be delivered daily from Yorkville, Deerfield And NH! New cars for everyone punching a time card at city hall! He will be revered and the elementary school children will sing songs about him.
.....and now back to reality. It's over. Last one turn out the lights.

It will be at least an 18-22% tax hike on property owners. There will also be a proposal to hire on 6 fire fighters and 8 cops.

The budget fight is coming and the battle will continue that they need public safety needs the manpower that they will either lose or need to maintain. Palmieri need to grow a set of balls and tell them that they either re-negotiate contracts and give back a few perks, pay cuts, raises and pay a little more for their heath care to keep the numbers the way they are or stay greedy and lose a few more officers and firemen without paying them off like last year. These aren't the Roefaro days of give aways anymore and the taxpayers are the only ones in this city which have made any sacrafises so far hurting our families for their families. Now is the time to face the reality, where you either give back a little to maintain manpower or there going to have to lose a few more guys. There should be no two ways about it, seeing that public safety eats up nearly 70% of the cities budget while only 33% of homeowners are picking up the entire tab. let's start burning cars in the streets. Taxes have over doubled in the last two Mayors without anything to show for it except empty bank accounts and ludicrist union contracts.

Actually all those firemen that took the incentive agreed to get paid in this years budget, they have not been paid yet! Funny no one is talking about the $360,000 that is owed to those firemen, where is that money gonna come from?

Don't forget about the restoration of some police officers the county paid $100,000 for. Where is that money coming from? What about the $160,000 that the city has to pay the federal government for Roefaro mis-spending federal funds. Where is that money coming from? What about the perrenial 3% increase to the UPD contracts for raises, and health care? Where is that extra money going to come from? What about salt for winter? What about our share for the bus tranfer station? What about out share for the new boulvard concept plan for Genesee Strret? What about police for boilermaker and Saranack thursdays. Where is any of this money going to come from? The State just took 72 properties off the tax rolls for the arterial and homeowners are sell there home like hot cakes. What about more and more people with rentals just giving up and aboandoning more and more overtaxed properties? I would just start handing out suicide pills to our elderly and poor who can't afford the taxes and upkeep of there homes anymore and hand them over to the refugess whowill pay for them with there welfare checks, state and federal money.

Palmieri needs to cut the bs. Get rid of more cops and firemen. We should start a volunteer fire department and also have aux police. We have 1/3 of the population that we used to have. There is no need for the overspending. Cut back on pensions and health care. The blvd idea for genesee street is a joke. Nobody wants to go downtown. There is nothing there but office buildings. Stores are not going to open up down there and cause a boom in business. Utica is not Syracuse, Albany etc. maybe he should worry about the lazy city employees. Like the DPW workers I see driving around whitesboro or hanging out at Rosas. Ever drive by around 11 and you see all of them and the UPD hanging out.

How many consulting jobs?
Who?
Write it up.
The public has a right to know how the money is spent just like he has a right to spend it any way he wants.

Meola was on the radio saying the city hasnt reconciled the bank accounts in 2 years. The stewardship of the citys money cant get anymore cluster f $#k. This comptroller has made a mockery of his position. No wonder he needs to borrow more money to pay bills. He doesnt even know how much money the city has. Say hello to an even bigger tax increase and be sure to stop in and say hello to the man who made it happen.
