It was called "Obliviation I" after they opened "Obliviation II" in Rome.

Originally it was the "House of Cards" but it was kind of a "head shop" and Spenser Gifts rolled into one.

Warlord used to go there and do some bongs, and then we would cross the street to the White Tower for band practice.

Tape Utopia was downstairs. I still have a t-shirt from that place, with a guy with a "gas-mask" on, giving the peace sign as smoke billows out of the mask. I forgot the guy's name who ran it, but he used to sell a small bottle of "Locker Room" for $5.00. Anybody remember that stuff??

Yup. Locker Room came in a tiny brown bottle with a black top, and we used to wander the streets of Utica sniffing it all day !

Or we would soak the end of an (unlit) cigarette in it & pass it around. I think it was Butyl Nitrate? Good God, what were we thinking?? Here most of us were going to college & we're killing off who knows how many brain cells. lol

Was that the same thing as "poppers"? That was very big in the gay community.
