Redo track and long jump for $498,000, redo shop at $189,000. Space changes at HS for $290,000. Add a greenhouse or tunnel greenhouse at HS for $30,000. Replace lockers for $320,000. And all the safety and security may not be covered by state aide People need to ask more questions. Or just vote NO since the superintendent is not telling you all that is on their wish list. Excuse me their list

People need to start paying attention. Plus how many capital projections are we already paying on. Do we really need all these things in a time where we never know if we will get the money back. This is a small community to be spending almost $8 million on. Is lonczak still here

In these times. How can Waterville spend seven million on a capital project? Can't imagine what will happen to their taxes.

Maybe you should keep your bullshit post in the WATERVILLE forum, not UTICA.

Besides, as small a district as Waterville is, there is no way they have anywhere near a $7.7M project in mind. They wouldn't even spend that if they built two new schools.

Lame asses will be lame asses.

Waterville Central School District is proposing a $7.7 million capital project.
“Much of what is included is overdue and other aspects will be required by legal mandate or structural necessity - possibly at a time when such generous funding is not available,” Superintendent Charles Chafee said in a project pamphlet.
A vote on the project will take place from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, in the junior-senior high school cafeteria, 381 Madison St.
The project qualifies for $6.23 million in state aid, and the district has $430,000 in reserves to further reduce the local share to $1,048,892, according to the release.
The total cost per household on the 18-year bond, is estimated to increase $1 per month for a home with a market value of $50,000.
Improvements include enhanced handicapped accessibility, health and safety conditions, and student and community recreational facilities, according to a news release.
The following are included:
Improving elementary student drop-off area.
Reconstructing all bathrooms for handicapped accessibility.
Replacing security cameras, public address and phone systems at both school buildings, as well as new cameras at the bus garage.
Replacing the elementary school library roof.

Waterville should use that money to consolidate. A school district with approx. 900 students, at least six administrative salaries. Waterville Suprintendent makes as much as Bruce Karram, Superintendent of Utica Schools. Really!! A Greenhouse??? How about employeeing more mental health personnel and social workers for students. And believe me, no fund money is free.
